Legal issues aside, if true that Hoiberg warned BDJ to cool it, and that the coaching staff has been involved (per APD tweets) in trying to control this situation as well, it would seem that BDJ is disregarding and disrespecting the entire coaching staff. I'm not sure how that ends well for BDJ.

Curt is pretty much always on the side of the athlete regardless of what occurs.

As ****** as this news is and as bad as we are all taking it, imagine being Hoiberg and getting that call or text this morning about this. I'll admit, I've thought at times how awesome it would be to be Fred Hoiberg, today is not one of those days though.

In all reality, is there even a chance for him to play tomorrow? Like if ISU were to decide that he could play, what is the likelihood of him even bring released and ready by then?

I'm sure he technically could play. It doesn't take long to bail someone out of jail. I seriously doubt he will play though.

I agree... I mean you can't keep letting things slide with out punishment... I mean its like if your a team in the Eastern part of the state whose starting Senior PG is arrested for Public Intoxication and you don't suspend him for a game what kind of message would that send to the younger guys right?

Who are you talking about? And since when do the cops make decisions on whether or not a player starts?

What?

On a different note, I'm not going to bag the Ames PD for this. BDJ was an idiot about it and had been previously. They'd bent over backwards, and something had to be done on their end.

That still doesn't mean his conduct warrants suspension.

Seriously, he's 22. I'm a lot older than him and I've had cops come to my house for noise complaints after 2 AM. They even saw the cannabis sitting out and just gave me a warning.

He doesn't need a wake up call for his personal life. What he did was idiotic. That's all.

You guys keep mentioning Iowa related incidents when you have no idea how I feel about them... which is I agree. Jok is an idiot. Two OWI's and driving without a license = idiot. BDJ being warned 4 times and still not complying = idiot. Sexual assault incidents at Iowa = disgraceful.

You aren't making any relevant points here. The only thing I'm trying to say is lay off the cops in this instance. Sounds like BDJ got what he deserved.

I suppose my point was (even though I DID delete it) that iowa fans - including yourself - seem to show up at these precise times. Maybe not exclusively criminal or legal, but certainly the lowpoints....

So in such a way - yes, it is relevant. Something about glass houses.....

On 12/11/14 the Ames Police Department received a complaint of people being loud while playing video games at 1221 Mayfield Dr. #310. The caller
also stated that people were banging on his wall from #310.
I responded to the apartment and noticed loud voices from inside as I walked down the hallway. I could distinguish approx. 3 male voices

inside the apartment. I knocked on the door and DEJEAN-JONES identified himself as a resident. Two other males were with him. While I spoke with
DEJEAN-JONES I could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the apartment.
A search warrant was executed at the residence and a small amount of marijuana was found scattered on a dresser. There were multiple blunt
packages on the living room table along with ashes from smoking.

It is a serious misdemeanor, the same as an OWI, so it shouldn't be any more than a 3 game suspension, same as for Matt and Abdel. I think OWI is actually more serious as you are putting others' lives at risk.

Suspend him for 1 game.

Let the Iowa Athletic Dept choose the game to see what kinda balls they have.

In effort to remain positive:

1. We have guys like Thomas and Nader capable of stepping up.
2. Even a loss against Iowa doesn't ruin any goals for the season.
3. If there is a suspension, hopefully it's BDJ's final wakeup call for not only the team but in his personal life.
4. We have Niang, they don't.
5. Hogue is prime for a breakout game.

Jesus man this is what pains me. I mean, he very well may need to re-evaluate his life and have a good look in the mirror but I'm not going to jump to that conclusion from this incident or even this incident in conjunction with everything we know about BDJ's past.
