We'll be OK. Tough loss on the road. Get over it. ALL conference games are tough, epically on the road. It's hard to play all these games tough.

I'd agree if we just lost to Oklahoma on the road. We lost to the worst team in a major conference today.

Last post of the night, why is BDJ's ball handling bad? Seems to have issues dribbling at times.

Rutgers vs. Wisconsin.

I'm not trying to excuse today. Because there really is no excuse. None. But **** happens.

Listened to the post game interviews. Fred was in '****** Fred' mode. You know how sometimes he'll take a loss and kind of let it go. He was ticked tonight. I thought that Monte was unusually ticked.

The key for this team is going to be coming out and playing well Monday night and then taking whatever the result is and moving forward from there.

As a life-long Iowa State fan I fully expected this and wouldn't be shocked if they lose the rest of the games this season. Seems like our football team was top 10 once and then the bottom fell out. You would think that The Mayor will make this a distant memory fast, but you never know. If you are cold you are cold. The team has a little bit of heart to come back but this is simply a game that we should have never lost. Every game from now until the end of the season is a toss up. Let's hope that we get a lot of bounces through March.

They have a bigger margin for error than we do because they don't have 1 tough road game on their schedule overall, had 0 losses in conference, and didn't have half the conference breathing down their necks for the lead. We are now in a 3 way tie for 2nd with 3 probably road losses left to Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Nobody is winning the conference with 5 losses.

I'm not sure I'd call it road woes, but whatever.

If anything is going to wake these guys up to the fact that they don't automatically get a win by walking into the building, hopefully this is it.

Not a lot of bright spots , but Matt was one. Dustin fought his *** off too. Glad it's a quick turnaround to Texas.
One would have hoped one of the other bad losses would have woken them up, especially when they said it did.

The game was lost because of shooting, period. Yes, ISU could have played better defense and rebounded better, but the clones will not win games against anyone shooting 3 pointers like they did today. TT was absolutely on fire from outside and shot way above their average from the FT line.

This ISU team is not a great defensive team, and will not be. Making shots is what makes this team go.

How do you propose to improve the shotmaking? Shots aren't always going to go. If this team wants to do something special, they will need to play better defense. You can't make a missed shot go in, but after you miss the shot, you can certainly bear down and play tough defense, instead of pouting and let the opponent have an open look at a three...

no, Tech scored nearly as many points against us today as they had in the past two games combined. Our defense was not good enough today either.

Over the past two seasons we are 5-6 when ranked in the top 10. We are 37-6 when not ranked in the top 10.

Of course, that includes a ton of non-conference wins over weak teams since we didn't get ranked in the top 10 until mid-season both years. Looking at just Big 12 and NCAA tournament games, we are 4-4 when in the top 10 and 16-6 when outside the top 10. That really hurts to see.

Well, things should be looking up very soon then!

If Freddieball tendancy continues in similar vein to past 3 seasons, this team will hit a stride from mid-February and beyond, and we'll forget about this loss in March. Looking like less-than-**** away from Hilton would be a nice starting point.

But today ... today ... this looks like an example of a 4-seed that could go to the Final Four or lose to a 13 seed.

I'm starting to get tired of the talk. Just win when you're supposed to win, that's all. Our football coach is good at "talking" after bad losses. I don't want our basketball coach to become good at it too.

I went and listened to John Walters' interview with Fred BEFORE the TT game. Fred said he stressed to his team that you have to win these kinds of games to be champions. And he also said he stressed how important it was to get off to a quick start and not fall way behind like we did against Baylor because you can't win games coming from behind like that all the time.

I guess his team really listened to what he had to say, didn't they? They are a weak minded group, and not tough at all. They love to talk smack, and get all cocky when they play well, but then they disappear against terrible teams like TT and play like a bunch of losers.

Not the qualities of a great team at all right now.

Well the team screwed up ... This was one of the wins they needed to win the regular season title. They need to steal a road win from KU, KSU, OU or Texas to offset this lost.

I agree.

But I said the talk was different this time.
