"Texas is by far the toughest game we have left including last night. Everyone is waiting for them to flip the switch and I have a bad feeling it will be Saturday."

Methinks Texas isn't the only team who could possibly "flip a switch". I really think this Cyclone team could bring it up another notch.

Talk on sports radio in KC this morning is that Weber has totally lost KSU and they are circling the drain after a beatdown last night at TCU. Get past UT and we shall see.

Just looked at the box score - Foster only played 17 minutes and scored 5 points. I'm guessing that team is pretty ripe for an implosion soon.

This is very possible, we need to to even have a remote chance to share with KU.... My issue is there are not give-me's left.... KSU beat OSU back in January.... TCU beat OSU as well.... We will be up for the Texas game on Saturday, but the 2 remaining home games are definitely not give me's OU and Baylor, one game at a time for me..... That and keep of the defensive intensity....

It's just too hard to win on the road in the Big 12/college basketball. I don't see us beating KSU AND Texas on the road. We may be able to pull off one of those road games, but I wouldn't bet on it.

In the other thread I guessed we'd go 5-1 in the last 6 games. OSU seemed like the toughest, but nothing is a cake walk in the Big 12. @Texas, @KSU, and OU will be the toughest games left, and while I don't think we lose at home this year, it isn't a lock. I'd say we have about a 20% chance to win out right now. If we win @Texas then I think it'll be about 50/50. Just gotta keep rooting for what should be everyone's second favorite team right now...whoever's playing Kansas.

Ought to win out, probably won't. Win at Texas, and likelihood increases immensely.

4-1 minimum the rest of the regular season.
By absolutely no stretch of the imagination are we in a position where we "ought to win out"

We won't even be favored in our next game

Let me rephrase: Taken individually, ISU (given its profile compared to remaining schedule, considering venue) should be able to win each game.

At Texas is the key test, but UT has beaten only one tournament-lock team at home this season (West Virginia) and only one other possible at-large team (Iowa) all season.

OU and Baylor are more challenging opponents, but those games are at Hilton.

Any team that has built 3-seed status should sweep KSU and TCU.

And I'm still saying 1 loss, so I'm not guaranteeing perfection by any means.

Maybe it is the kool-aid of a road win. I think Iowa State wins out, goes 14-4 and at minimum shares the Regular Season Title.

The toughest game left on the schedule is Saturday against Texas. I think the only thing to worry about with this team, is will they get up enough for K-State and TCU.

Do I think we're better than K-State and TCU?...Yes. But I also believe that those are both possible road losses and it doesn't have to be because the only reason is that the team "didn't get up" enough for those teams. Some teams just execute better, take away your strengths, and your game may not be clicking on a given day. Therefore, just like KU already losing 3 road games, I think it would be pretty tough to expect the Clones to win out. Possible? Yes. Probable? No. Texas is desperately needing a win and had 13 blocks vs. OU. 13....that's going to be an issue. Guarding the rookie phenom as well. Beat the Longhorns!

I think that this team has proven that they can beat anyone at home .... and that ANYONE can beat them on the road. I hope that we win out and clearly this team is capable of winning out. Nice to see a win coupled with a poor shooting performance. This team is great and they are getting better and preparing themselves mentally better. The last two minutes of the OSU game proves that they are together. Some of that comes down to luck...

Would be awesome if the Clones win out, but I'm going to guess they lose one and probably two. 13 - 5 would still be awesome though! That would be ISU's best finish ever in the new 10 team Big XII.

This board is quite the roller coaster.

One week we have the we will not win another game on the road crowd, its a small but a loudly negative vocal bunch.

Now we go to the other extreme discussing winning out. (I like this extreme better, much more fun crowd)

Hopefully it is starting to sink in to some that, ISU has played the other top teams in the league on the road already, and yes Tech was a clunker, but losing at Baylor, OU, and KU was not a very big deal.

Texas will be tough. TCU is playing better, KSU is a dumpster fire and you wonder if they will even have guys still on the team by the time we get to play them.

We probably lose one of those..

Thing is knowing next years team should be even better really takes any sting out of any loss this years team has.
