I'd agree with the bolded. Obviously, you've got voters with differences in opinion as to what really matters too.
If you were part of the AP would you vote for placing ISU ahead of WSU and UNI?

ARank the following teams. This isn't meant to hurt or help my argument. I just want to see how people would "vote" for these teams. Don't cheat, that'll take the fun out of it:
Team Wins Losses SOS RPI A 22 5 1 .6861 B 17 10 26 .5728 C 16 12 13 .5770 D 19 8 2 .6273 E 19 8 36 .5977 F 9 17 15 .5048 G 20 6 16 .6356 H 19 7 8 .6251 I 26 2 51 .6127 J 16 11 3 .5769
Some of teams are obvious, but I just want to see how things turn out.
Edit: Posted too soon...meant to hit Go Advanced. Give me a minute to get the table set up.

He messed up UNI's SoS, should be 178So these are all teams that have way harder schedules than UNI or WSU? I can tell none of these teams are either of them instantly because these are all at least somewhat respectable schedules. Both are sub 100 SOS.
I switched UNI's SOS with their Non Conference RPI by accident when I was switching categories on ESPN's site...threw this together quick, its not scientific, just for fun.So these are all teams that have way harder schedules than UNI or WSU? This. I was thinking to myself when I got to that column, "Shoot, neither of them have that bad of a SOS." WSU isn't one of the teams listed FWIW.He messed up UNI's SoS, should be 178

Again, I will repost this for all of the ISU fans that are delusional.
SOS doesn't necessarily play as big of a factor in rankings pre selection Sunday in March. UNI beaten who's on their schedule, which is the name of the game and only has two losses
Come Selection Sunday will UNI be "ranked" (seeded) one of the top 12 teams in the tourney (4 #1 seeds, 4 #2 seeds, and 4 #3 seeds)? No. will Iowa State? Yes. This will be due to UNI's poorer SOS.
Everyone just needs to pull their undies out of their buttcrack and unclench their cheeks, because while UNI is ranked above ISU in the AP (deservingly so based on their RECORD), that won't be the case come Selection Sunday
This should answer anyones questioning of Cybyassociations "illogical argument"

Well the whole thread is talking about two teams that have sub 100 SOS, so I don't see the point of comparing fictional teams with an SOS of 51 and much better. Do it again with at least one team have as bad of a schedule as WSU or UNI.
If UNI had a 51 SOS and just two losses I might even be campaigning for them to be a bit higher than 10th. That'd put them somewhere around the average power conf team schedule strength.

I'll try to put one together tomorrow. Maybe even a top 25 one and list something like 30 or 40 teams. Do you think one hiding W-L would be fun? What about one without RPI or SOS? Just trying to mix it up, get something fun going on.

I understand why most of you don't like that UNI is ranked higher than ISU, but why do you think they are? Flawed system? Conspiracy against ISU? Good record?
I don't think too many people are concerned that somehow the AP poll will represent the seeding of the teams in question. I truly do not care what the AP has to say at this point precisely because they are not a good representation of who the best 25 teams (in proper order) are in the country. The AP poll track record for predicting seeds is not great. I WISH the AP did a better job so that I COULD care.
The issue some are having here is that it has been stated that UNI deserves to be above ISU in the AP despite these same people believing ISU to be the better team. Don't be illogical.
