Taking a look at our WR roster...it's pretty nuts. Most talent we have ever had. If Sam Richardson isn't a 3,000+ Yard passer this year I'm going to be pretty disappointed. Win or lose, this passing game needs and SHOULD make some crazy plays.
All starts with line play. ISU and Rhoads' future depend on how well the front 5 can play this year. It also depends on the injury bug.
This. If the offensive line is poor again, than prepare to be disappointed. If they are good then a great passing game is a possibility.
I'm sure Sam would love to have a lot less rushing yards and give the receivers a chance to get 3,000+ yards, but like the previous posters stated it all starts up front. If they can't give him the time to throw he will be running for his life and taking more hits. Which of course will cause him to become injured or he could get a bad case of road rash some where along the lines.

I don't think the O-line should shoulder as much blame as they do. Sam shouldn't need all day back there.. he had time to throw consistently last season. These receivers need to step up to their potential this upcoming year and get open.
We don't need a whole playbook of slow developing pass plays. Slants, curls, outs, ins, verticals, bubbles, etc. are all routes that the line only needs to protect for about 2 seconds. We struggled at those last season too.
With all due respect, that idea ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale & a dolphin gettin it on...At MINIMUM, Bundrage & Lazard are above average....still pretty average D1 receivers. Might be alright if there's time to throw and a running game. I saw some blurb about Brunderage being a star....he's a decent player, but I was unaware of his stardom. Back to basketball season...
The line may remain stodgy but MarkManGino will figure it out.I want to be as optimistic as anyone on here, but the fact that there are already 4 OL out for the spring, it is hard to see the OL taking a huge step forward.
****! Did we just run another busted bubble screen?!
