I may be rare in that my vertical has increased, but only because I've lost 55 lbs in the past 5 months![]()
** Stories are a bit more helpful if you provide your height **
I'm 6'3....pushing 6'4 with bball shoes. I've never been able to dunk as I had a Georges Niang like vertical. Now my vertical at age 29 rivals that of Adam Woodbury. It's embarrassing how high (or low) I can jump.
Interesting question....Do you find also as you get older you lose the ability to control where your fingers are headed?
I haven't seen them around for a long time but they used to make these special shoes that forced you to run on your toes. They had flat appendages that were at the bottoms of the front of the shoe. I asked a guy using them what they were for and he said they helped your jumping. I would say this is about thirty years ago so I don't know if they are still made but the guys I saw using them were all basketball players wanting to jump higher.

5'-10" back in the day. 5'-9" now. Could never dunk. Best I could do was grab the rim.
