Refs…

If they call the game the way our whiny fan base claims they want it to be called, Morris, long and Niang would've fouled out in 5 minutes. Hand checking and impeding movement with the body at a level that would've made Frank Mason proud.

Refs shouldn't matter playing UAB. We had a bad game. The risk of being a poor defensive team. But in tourney play the refs do seem to favor Cinderella and Cinderella used that glass slipper to beat up our guys and we didn't overcome it. That is march madness.

Instead of whining about the refs why don't we blame the team for flat out playing cocky and thinking their talent alone was good enough to win. That was the real problem. We ****** this away.

Yep, well said. And this comes down to coaching. Fred and the staff disappeared as much as the team did at times this year.

You don't want to be a cry baby? This thread indicates otherwise.

Maybe I should stick to simple sentences (subject, a verb, and completed thought). Are you still in elementary school or simply attempting to show your ignorance? Is a compound sentence really too challenging for you to analyze? Do I really need to diagram the sentence or are you comfortable taking my comments out of their grammatical content?

Right, please don't blame the players. Does anyone think it's plausible that the players didn't care enough or didn't try hard enough or were too cocky on the floor. Simply put, Haase won the coaching battle.

I wouldn't say that.......but I'll say this.....because Fred is tremendous....but freelance offense looks great when it works.....when it doesn't it looks like the crap we watched today.

Not questioning the method.....guess I'd like to see a few more sets when things get out of control.

Everyone should watch this video for when you think we're just out there freelancing. We run an NBA type of offense where it's not going to be like your 8th grade basketball team's offense running through an entire flex set with the goal to try and get a layup by your tallest guy. The "play" is all in the initial action to get a player in position to attack. It's just not what a lot of people are used to and why a lot of people don't appreciate the NBA.

What about defensive adjustments that the team can implement when they're getting pounded on the glass? That's a critical part of coaching. At least in college.

It shouldn't have come down to it, but it sure looked like Niang was fouled across the arm on that last drive. Again, absolutely shouldn't have even been in a situation like that, just making an observation.

He was fouled, the replay clearly showed it in slow motion but at game speed I didn't have a problem with that no call. Niang had no business trying to force that shot up into a double team. Just a total boneheaded play by him in crunch time.

Long's 3 goes in for the tie, maybe they win in OT, all else is forgotten, and the coaching is not questioned. But why are they even in that position.

jesus....get off the high horse.

I'm aware of what they run. They do obviously run some initial action.....I'm more referring to the green light essentially everyone has to chuck it up as soon as they get it that often gets us one and done shots......where there are times I'd like to reign in that freedom.....no...doesn't have to be "Hey guys were gonna run FIST ok?"....but just to get it moving.

We forced up a lot of threes today when we could have put more pressure on them moving the ball.
