Are we in on any high school 2016 PGs?

We're in on Amir Coffey, while not a true PG, it's been noted that he would like to be that Penny Hardaway type of primary ballhandler.

I'm not seeing us in too hard for any true PG. Cassius Winston maybe?

Seems a bit premature to say he's transferring to a mid major. It's not like he's a scrappy underdog. The guy was a four star recruit out of high school with offers from three other Big 12 teams (per Rivals).

Whatever the reason for the transfer, best of luck to him. Really creates an immediate need for a backup plan at PG.

What really surprises me about this is that CC was committed to ISU for almost two years before starting his Freshman year. He always seemed to love FH and ISU in general. Thought he would stick it out till MM graduated. Would have been a really good floor general.

On the other hand, he committed at a time when we were not a Top 25 team and were coming off the first tourney appearance. Now we are a borderline Top 10 team, maybe higher next year, and his size and physicality, more than anything else, doesn't fit the role of PG on a Top 10 team.

I wouldn't expect to see a juco point guard that is good enough to play come here when they know they are getting 10 minutes a game at most.

Yep - no need for a juco PG when you have Monte and hopefully Cooke. Better to get a HS who can get from Monte - what Monte got from DeAndre.

He looked solid when he played. Wasn't there a Big 12 game when he got some extensive second-half minutes?

I had a feeling transfer was a possibility when he wasn't seeing much court time in relevant situations, like he wasn't being groomed as a successor to Monte.
Unfortunately, I think that was the Tech game we lost

Well I just said in the transfer thread we could see up to three more open scholarships....and here's one. No real surprise here, didn't look like he was physically ready to contribute in the B12. Time to upgrade.

I'm sure there are people trying to get into Monte's ear and telling him he's ready for the NBA now.

The woman in this photo knows a thing or two about basketball and I'm pretty sure she has primary access to Monte' ear.

But he flat said he's not even thinking about it this year, he will look at it and decide after next year. No reason to not believe him on that.
He's not thinking about it because he wouldn't get drafted. He's nowhere to be seen on the projected drafts and they don't go by who they know is coming out, they go by who can play in the league. It's extremely hard for small 1 guards to make it in the league. That's why ISU is in such a good spot, they have a very good point guard that will be there for four years.

@TravisHines21: That leaves ISU w/o a second true-PG on the roster and ‘Clones haven’t been recruiting another. Cooke/Burton/Niang probably enough though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him go out east. His girlfriend is going to play some sport at penn or penn state or something.

Bummer though. I hate it when we lose guys to transfers even if it is on good terms from both sides.

Hope this is the last one.

We just gained a bunch of flexibility with this situation.

Well transfer season just started, Hines should know how this works by now, it's somewhat frowned upon by the NCAA to actively recruit players on other college teams.

Watched him play several times down here and his high school is a couple blocks from my house, so I was interested in his development and impact. Not completely shocked by it given the way that Monte has developed. I hope he gets what he wants from his college experience and plays a big role wherever he lands. Great, great kid. I'll be cheering for him wherever that may be.

Conner Frankamp transferred to Wichita state from KU... I don't think they will have any guard openings.

Too bad Amir Coffey is a 2017 guy..
