What's your confidence level of beating UNI in the first game?

I refuse to have any confidence. I still have a sliver of hope, but no confidence.

"Just like last time, we're going to curb stomp those Panthers!" *looks at last result*
"Well, that was a fluke. We still stomp all other mid-majors!" *looks at NDSU result last year*
"At least we always beat these small conferences in bowl games?" *looks at result of bowl game vs Tulsa*
*Sigh* "We are Iowa State..."

UNI secondary will be solid. They lose a NFL RB, 3 of their top WRs, both interior DTs, two very good LBs and 3 OL. They have lots of questions as well. They do return Kolmorgen who is very good. Every single player and coach knows how important this game is.

Kollmorgen isn't seeing the field. Kid got a raw deal with how last year went down.

New OC is going to play his guy. Dalton Demos or Aaron Bailey will be the starter.

Even if it is true that really doesn't matter. What does matter is whether or not they are good enough to stop our receiving corp.

I would say what really matters is can we make their defense respect our running game, and can we get our stud recievers the ball?

I think the Cyclones will win this one. David Johnson was an enormous part of their offense. Losing him alone hurts them quite a bit, but he isn't the only player they lost. I think they might have enough to make it a good game, but if I were gonna bet on it this year I'd take ISU for sure. The Cyclones should have a major advantage in size and skill at WR. They shouldn't need a running game in this one. Richardson will have to have enough time to get the ball to his receivers. If he has that I'm pretty confident your boys will start out 1-0.

Just think about it, ISU finally gets the SEZ done by spending a butt load of money and they lose the dedication game for the SEZ to UNI with the biggest home crowd of all time on hand to witness it. It's the most ISU thing to do ever. 61,000 in-person nut punches?!? Fate won't miss that chance. And you just know it'll be in the most heartbreaking fashion possible

Just like how it's now destiny that ISU plays UAB next season in basketball and wins by 36.

It can't be a nut punch if people can see it coming, which we obviously can.

If we lose to UNI, CPR should be fired immediately after the game. Give the team to Mangino and see what he can do as JP looks for a replacement with quality head coaching experience. If Mangino somehow gets us to a bowl game, keep him. If not, you've had a few months to vett and find the next guy.

Right now? On a scale of 1 to 10, call it three. Maybe a little more or less confident after the spring scrimmage, but Rhoads and co are going to have to win back the fanbase's confidence. No more blind optimism.

100%. We are going 5-0 to start the season. Coach Rhoads will get this team rolling and I am very confident about this. Those who think different can just go over to Eastern Iowa and cheer for them and stay the hell away when we start winning again.

Well, there is a first time for everything I guess.

I love the free gift I get every time I go to JTS. It might have been sponsored by Dollar Shave Club.

I think you need to slow down a bit on the spiced rum.
