I think this West Virginia v. Kentucky matchup could be really interesting, on one hand West Virginia's press and rough style of defense can really through teams for a loop, but Kentucky has the athletes to blow the doors off them if they can break the press for easy baskets.

Plus, I think both fan bases will be cheering hard for a tie game because they heard when you tie it feels like kissing your sister. *zing*

Any time WVU plays someone with more physical talent than them it boils down to one thing: how the game is called. If allowed to do what they want to do, they can give good teams fits. If not, they can have themselves in deep foul trouble by halftime and never be a factor.

The officiating thus far in the tournament has been decidedly in favor of letting teams play. I wonder if that continues once the physical playing field is more level for teams in the round of 16.

I agree with your take on the officiating... our game in Morgantown was called more towards their style and we were lucky to escape with a close win and I thought if they try that in Ames we win by 20 because we'll get more calls at home.

I like that WVU plays a different style that could really cause fits for anyone, even Kentucky.

Even though I hate playing against them, I have enjoyed watching WVU in the tourney. Their style is completely different than everyone else's and it is entertaining to watch.

They got to make about ten threes and cause 20+ turnovers to even hang in the game. (same is true of most anyone)

I'd feel a lot better about WVU's chances if this was an Elite Eight matchup and a quick turnaround. Kentucky gets a few days off to prep for WVU and their style of play.

If it's tight in the last minute and comes down to coaching...Huggy Bear > Cal

This is either a total blowout win for UK or a nail-biter. I can't decide but I'm looking forward to watching.

Thursday night games are average seed of 3.63 and Friday night games (our bracket)are average seed of 5.1. Boy, did we blow it for the Friday game in Oakland.

WVU is a gimmick team, I like the odds of their gimmick over about any other team playing them straight up.

We finally had a path with no brutal road games built into it and blew it.

If WVU can turn UK over and get layups, they could win. There is no way WVU beats UK in a half court game.

Yep, I'd the press can turn Kentucky over it is a close game. If not, find something else to watch.

I have made no reservations about how I feel about Huggins' style of basketball this year. That said, I have talked myself into thinking this is a going to be a game. WVU talking all kinds of **** all week and I know what kind of style they play. I think the first 5 minutes of this game tonight is going to be all kinds of physical. Huggins is doing everything he can to get into Kentucky's heads. WVU is going to try to beat the living hell out of them.
