from the "not considered" list...

It's everything you'd imagine it to be.

From the "Wheat Barons" to the "Growlers" to the "ManBearPigs" they're all here.
Some are serious. Some are jokes. A lot of them are hilarious, especially the comments.

What recruit could resist the temptation of signing on to be the newest member the University of North Dakota Backdoor Lumberjacks?

I guess I don't see what is wrong with the Fighting Sioux.

The Sioux were great fighters and held off to the end, something to to be proud of.

But if not the Fighting Sioux I guess the University of North Dakota ****in' Waste of Spaces rolls off the tongue nicely.

The Cleveland Browns already own the rights to that name.

Yeah. The Fighting Sioux doesn't seem offensive at all. Redskins? Yeah, I get that. Fighting Sioux, not so much.

If the fighting sioux are not acceptable, maybe they should consider the "Fighting Calvary"

If I remember correctly (from the Great Native American Nickname Purge from several years ago now which cost Illinois their logo and mascot and other schools their nicknames), unlike with Florida State and Central Michigan where the Seminoles and Chippewas respectively approved the use of their names with said institutions, I don't think the Sioux ever approved the use of their name.

I can hear the chants now. Crucify them! Crucify them! I think you meant cavalry.

Fair enough.

I'm fine with the involved tribe having a say in the matter.
