As long as they look a lot less like USC's. Been my main complaint ever since they debuted.
You're crazy. The biggest accomplishment this program has is the split second when someone is flipping channels and thinks we're USC.

Of course the jerseys won't look any different.

Paul Rhoads and Jamie Pollard are steadfast in building this ISU football program based solely on our great brand and tradition here.

You know... the tradition of basically never having a 1st round draft pick in the NFL, and not one single guy drafted this year. And the tradition of not going to bowl games, and not winning them when we do get there. The tradition of winning about 3 or 4 games a year on average. The brand recognition of everyone calling us the Hawkeyes on national TV all the time. The tradition of being the "Cyclones", but having a bird as a mascot.

You know.... all those great traditions. Who wouldn't want to come play for a program with all those great traditions and brand recognition? Why change things up and get some cool looking uniforms that kids like to wear? Or maybe coming out to some music that isn't 40 years old that your old head coach likes?

Honestly, I've never been one for the whole uniform flipping thing, but after how you just laid it all out there, really, we'd probably be better off with new colors and new uniforms every year, that way no one would know who we are. The truth really hurts when you realize what our tradition really is.

I'd venture to say that CF is not a good sample for the general public's opinions of our uniforms. My guess is many people who really don't care about such matters, like them just fine and think they look classy. Jaime is smart enough to look in to the metrics.

They should just go with the color scheme and logo of the 1977 team with gold helmets.

This is no joke... I have it from a reliable source that they are slightly different, but won't look different to fans. From someone close with the program.

Correct. They will be a slightly different material and have the "new" Nike collars like other teams have had for years.

Obviously, ours won't have the NFL logo :twitcy:

Here's Elon's new uniforms. I'm sure many on here would prefer this shade of cardinal and gold uniforms?

I thought there were some rumblings on new jerseys but maybe it was just that..rumblings. I hope there are new jerseys. The jerseys we have now are too much associated to losing. Expanded stadium, new jerseys, new hope? (May the 4th be with you)

It's up to the players/coaches to change the culture at ISU. Changing the jerseys isn't going to make us play smarter or harder. Keeping the jerseys the same helps to build some sort of tradition or brand recognition. Schools like Ohio St. and Florida aren't concerned about this. We shouldn't be either. It's just my opinion but I would think that stadium expansion/playing time would mean more to a recruit that what uniform they're playing in.

Alabama is about the only school I know of anymore that doesn't have at least some alternate uniforms. Ok, Penn State too. Teams like Michigan, ND, Florida State, Texas, Ohio State, etc, etc, etc all have multiple alternate uniforms now.

So pretty soon, we might be the only school left that has no alternate cool looking uniforms, and our intro is a classic rock song from 40-some years ago that only old people like anymore. So we aren't any good, AND we look like crap and are boring on top of it. Sounds like a winning approach to me! No wonder we compete with MAC schools for our recruits.

Oh wait, I'm sorry, I forgot that we tried matte helmets this year. Only about 5 years after they were kinda cool, but now look horrible, especially in red with a shiny logo on it.

If we are ever going to have success here its going to start with a coach that is on the absolute cutting edge of everything. Probably stuff we don't even realize yet. Think about the things Fry, Snyder, Briles, Hoiberg, Leach did when they took over their respective programs. Damn near reinventing the wheel.

From the looks of the snapchats from cycloneath, the gold stripes on the shoulders continue further down the chest and back. They have also added the uprgraded nike collars too.
