Also, CW you should absolutely get Mel on a podcast when he's around this summer. Always fun to listen to former players on those!

As for the grammar, I think everyone knows I'm a great student but not a great speller, unfortunately. I hope that you all can forgive me for my spelling short comings lol but like i said I'm really excited to interact with everyone on a more personal level. feel free to ask me anything and ill try to address your questions the best I can. Anyone know how i can add my picture lol
Dude you are Canadian...don't worry about spelling :)

Welcome to the site Melvin. My question for you is if you could sign with any NBA team, who would it be? And how does it feel to see pictures of you as someone's avatar?

Word of advice, don't read any threads about you from your freshman and sophomore seasons.... All these fan boys will be embarassed by what they said.

Melvin, I can't even believe this is happening. Thanks for doing this. Also, a big thank you to Chris. You have really won my heart over today.

Here's my question Mel. What was your favorite part about being a student at ISU? This does not need to be basketball related.

As I think about it more, and others continue to tell me how good of a job I would be able to do because of some of the skills and intangibles I have it could end up being a career path I decide to take. But that is definitely a few years away got a lot of playing left in me.

Hahahaaa...don't let these guys put you inna rocking chair yet, Mel...

(but reallydo...when you do, if I got any say, ISU's hiring...unfortunately, I don't have any say )

Really cool of you to stop in and be apart of this madness. Gotta love Italy. I spent 4 weeks there and the food was unreal. You were truly a great ambassador for ISU basketball.

First of all, you're one of the most humble and impactful players we've had at Iowa State. Your senior year was one of my favorites to watch. You were here during a time of Iowa State becoming something special from the many years we had to watch it be "not so special". We appreciate your service and coming onto the forums to spend some of your time.

How does playing overseas effect you and effect your ability to see your family? Do you get home sick? Does you family get to travel to see you play?

Melvin, first, I would like to thank you for keeping your commitment to Iowa State after McDermott got fired. You made the right choice on staying to play for Fred! Thank you.

Secondly, basketball players who stay all 4 years and get their ISU degree hold a special place in my heart. You are definitely one of the Cyclone greats that helped turn this program around to where it is today!

Melvin,

What was it like catching that huge fish with a "This is my keg stand shirt?"

I'll hang up and wait for the reply.

Sincerely,
