Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

Definitely doesn't hold water IMO. At least some of it. I have a hard time believing Fred would have told anyone anything. It is way too soon IMO. The Thibs situation will likely take some time to work itself out. Thats not me saying it, that's Chicago media. No way anything is final enough for Fred to be telling anyone anything outside his inner circle IMO.

Not attacking you Dandy. Just sounds like bad info to me.

You don't think Fred would inform his staff and JP ahead of time? Everyone has known for a while Thibs was gone no matter what happened in the playoffs

I just heard my 3 year old daughter fart. Just wanted to pass along what I'm hearing.

And it would coincide or at least stay in the timeline with JP's comments/demeanor from the Tailgate stop. It's hard to hear JP's comments and not hear the doom in there.

Does your daughter have a make-believe friend too?

I want my buddy to be wrong too but he has no reason to lie to me or to make stuff up. Why would he waste his time with that?

Of course Jeremy and Chris are saying it is a possibility. Everyone is.

I hope Hoiberg ends up staying at ISU but the situation right now is not looking good for ISU. I hope that changes.
People lie to their friends all the time to sound more important than they are. This sounds like a classic example.

I personally think that a deal is already either in the works or has been completed and we'll hear about it soon.
I would agree. This deal has been done and just waiting for the Bulls to be out of the playoffs. Sad to say!

Exactly. You're naive if you don't think Fred was reached out to by the Bulls a while ago

Apparently Thibs is still unaware. Think that through.

i think it could be true.

But it if it was, I wish he'd just announce even if the Bulls job isn't open. It's hurting Iowa state to wait to hire someone.

Key word here. He'll be professional about it in public but that is already on fire he's out there looking for his next job. It's just an odd situation where he's not jilted at all because he knows he's going to a better place for him and the Bulls have no reason to slam Thibs they are getting exactly what they want plus a draft pick probably.

He can't announce he's taking the Bulls job until it opens up. Fred doesn't need to announce anything right now. Only the staff, players, and JP need to know what's going on at the moment not the fans

I agree with that. His comments freaked me out a bit. I trust chris saying not to read into them though. So I didnt.

Thanks man. Appreciate it.

If I'm wrong you guys and crucify me all you want. I just want to get the content I'm hearing out there for you all to see. If I'm wrong then so be it. I have no reason to believe my friend is lying to me.

Unless you are someone who is deemed instantly credible (coach, media member, player, etc.) then there's always gonna be diehard fans who attack you for posting what you believe to be honest information. That's the way it works. People believe what they want to believe until the truth smacks them in the face.

If the staff and players already know, you don't think something would have leaked yet? And by leaked, I mean multiple sources coming out and saying something. College aged kids have very loose lips.

If me spreading false information that I hear means Hoiberg stays at ISU I will take it. My internet credibility is far less important than ISU basketball.

the fans don't need to know. But time is money in a coaching search. We have no time and little money.
