Re: REPORT: Alvin Gentry, not Fred Hoiberg, favorite to replace Tom Thibodeau

If you quick search Hoiberg on Twitter, there's a lot of comments with "uncertainty" or "unsure" regarding Hoiberg wanting to make the jump in them. Not that it says anything, but it's nice that the media at least doesn't think that it's a done deal.

What I hope that means is that he hasn't told the Bulls yes yet. And I also hope that means that he hasn't told Iowa State no yet.

Well what's your grand plan if Hoiberg leaves? We have to have a coach.

Gotta love the people who think their actions have any bearing what so ever on an athletic department's decisions.

Unless you are someone who is deemed instantly credible (coach, media member, player, etc.) then there's always gonna be diehard fans who attack you for posting what you believe to be honest information. That's the way it works. People believe what they want to believe until the truth smacks them in the face.

But that didn't make you anything but a complete and total liar

You read this and you get the feeling we will know within the next day or 2. You get the feeling that he is not ready yet to go to the NBA..

- there is strong doubt among NBA front office sources that he'd be inclined to make the jump.
"He can leave whenever he wants," one front-office source said. "Why now?"

The Chicago side of the media isn't as convinced that Fred will take the job as we are.
Speak for yourself.

You get the feeling that they don't think he is ready.

That is what I am thinking, dude just lost to UAB in the first round, with a ton of talent on his roster.

Speak for yourself.

Look you weren't right about TJ coming back, so I'm not sure why you are so damn convinced you are right now. Like I said, I would love it if you were. But I don't think you are as connected as you think you are.

And by 'they' whoever is leaking stuff for these stories. The Bulls would obviously take him right this second.

Hell maybe they wonder why it is so important that he take this job this year knowing what he has done and what he has coming back at Iowa State. We wonder that too.

This also clarifies the 'Fred can't speak about a job that's not open'. This implies, if it is Fred, that he has to commit before Thibs is traded, because there will be no firing.

He couldn't speak about the Bulls job. But he could speak in general terms if he wanted to.

I don't think Cloned knows jack about this. The old guard doesn't necessarily have a lot of connection to this coaching staff. Now if you asked him if Floyd was coming back, I'd believe what he told you.
You clearly have no idea who Cloned is. Thank god.

Yep, Fred's decision is gonna have a major impact on the NBA no matter what.
Would love the fact if he stays at ISU it might result in Izzo to the Pelicans. Wow..

Take a look at who favorited that post.

And I don't think it is because I am a beloved member of this community or anything.

Not ready as in not ready to leave the college game.

That's what I meant Fred is a smart guy, and losing to UAB, probably tells him there are still some things he needs to learn and he has unfinished business

hiring TJ would be a monumental disaster IMO. The only way this fan base survives losing fred hoiberg is if JP goes oit and makes a home run hire..Archie miller...Hornacek...etc.. TJ is a fine asst and good recruiter but has zero HC ecperience. WTS, I have no doubt that is who will be our next hc. No doubt. Why? Because JP cannot hire a HC who doesn't have ties to Iowa. Cpr, Hoiberg, Sanderson, kJ, McDermott. Etc...he refuses to make a hire with some one who doesn't have ties to iowa in some way. Chizik was his first and last.

JP has a plan in place.

Well now you are saying there is a need for a plan?

I thought you weren't at all worried about Hoiberg leaving?
