Finally something interesting!!! Best thread on here for a while (other than melvins maybe) this is why I come here. If McKay added a good shot that'd be AWESOME! He seems like a hard worker. Excited to see him next season.

If Jameel can find a way to be a good shooter (3 and FT), he will be stupid good. Hey Greenberg, there's your floor spacing you little *****.

McKay and Monte both have a ton of upside still. Of course like everybody I'd like to see him bulk up and I'm sure the staff is working on it but it's not like he was getting pushed around last year, more just figuring out where to be. If we were named Oklahoma so he could have played all season I think people really would have been even more blown away.

Is he shooting left handed? Is McKat a lefty? Is this well known and I didn't know?

Pretty awesome that he decided to stay in Ames this summer to bulk up and WORK. Looking forward to watching him next year.

You didn't watch him that closely did you?

Way up there
He def needs to work on his strength but there were only a couple of games where people pushed him around , having another dimension to his game can help him counter the advantage bigger post guys have against him. I'm not at all surprised with the work JM is putting in, the kid is a warrior. Last year we saw noticeable improvement almost game to game from Jameel as he got used to big 12 play. I thought he already had a nice looking shot, especially after he started working on his FT issues. Sometimes its crazy how easy he makes things look.

No doubt he needs to work on his strength, but he could be in the weight room 24/7, and he'd still never be a precense down low, like Fizer or hell even Cato. It's just not in his body type.

However, he can improve his jump shot and handle, and that would probably make him a better player for us and the NBA, than if he just tried to get stronger

If he is in Ames for the summer, he'll probably be in Cap city League again this year. So much fun watching him interact with his fans down there. So many fans even before he played a game for ISU. My favorite had to be the little blond preschooler who followed him everywhere, even on to the court. Looking forward to this year.
