I read in the paper today that Barrent's three top choices were Iowa, Illinois and Michigan State. I'm surprised ISU wasn't in there, considering he wants to major in engineering. Was also surprised to hear him say how impressed he was by Iowa's engineering program. I didn't know they had one.
Can't really blame him for his decision though. He made a comment about Ferentz's strong ties to the NFL and Iowa's history of sending O-lineman to the next level, and how his goal is to play pro ball. Best of luck to the kid, I guess.
There is no comparison between ISU's and Iowa's engineering programs. This recruit was obviously brainwashed since birth.
And if he was seriously considering Illinois or MSU, neither ISU's or UI's engineering programs can hold a tee to either of them. I don't really think engineering was all that huge a deal to him

Qualify this please. I had no idea that Illinois and MSU were leagues better than ISU. I'm not an engineer so help me understand this.
Was hoping Chizik would reverse this trend. Hope we can get at least one or two Iowa kids that EIU is also after. It really concerns me that the camp attendance is down. Is this from last year, or is it for this year? Have there been any camps yet this year? If not, anyone know when they are scheduled?

Maybe they're scared of him. He is a scary looking dude at times.:wink:I am hopeful that Chizik can recruit well in-state, and by "well" I mean getting players who are also offered by Iowa and other programs.
What's bothersome is the attendance at Chizik's two spring Coaches Clinics so far; they were both well below that of what McCarney used to attract.
