Re: BLUM: The Mayor's dilemma
You still have not posted a good reason why.. He has not lied or not been up front about anything has he?
I won't lose respect for Fred. I would be disappointed though. Iowa State gave him an opportunity to coach at a level that he could only dream about. I am sure that it was always a dream of Fred's to coach Iowa State to a National Championship. And Iowa State does have a potential NC team in place for next year.
So it comes down to which dream does Fred want? IMO, the Chicago Bulls job is Fool's Gold. An aging injured roster with talent, with the Ghosts of Champions past overshadowing you. The Ghosts of Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan can never be erased. A Championship with this team will never be remembered like the glory days with Jackson and Jordan. And failure can lead to the Coaching Graveyard that has been the destination for previous coaches......including a very good Iowa State Coach named Tim Floyd.
IMO, there are better places to eventually land than Chicago. Thibodeau has had a pretty good record at Chicago. Look where it got him......FIRED.
