We've survived as a family fanbase for a long time, through terrible teams, terrible coaches, no money, crappy stadiums, crappy facilities but this....this could be what brings the whole thing crashing down. It's going to be Hatfield's vs. McCoys from now on unless Fred comes back. And this isn't just for basketball this is going to ripple through everything.

We survived Eustachygate. We'll survive this.

EDIT: But yes, it will suck.

I refuse to go thru another 2001-2010 decade of despair. Not worth the stress.

Actual info? None of his "info" is anything we don't already know or assume. It's news that NBA teams without coaches have contacted him? No WAY! And he's not for sure leaving? I thought he'd already resigned?

Hoiberg is definitely gone to the Bulls.....or the T-Woves....or the Pelicans...or the Magic.....or he'll be back next year. You heard it here first.

I hadn't heard he had been contacted by all those teams, or that the door wasn't shut on ISU. Especially the T-Wolves is a surprising, and complicating, factor.

You can bet that Jamie Pollard is going to make a splash hire. I just do not see him risking his AD position on Otz. I am betting on someone like Archie Miller.

It's surprising a team with an interim coach that employed (and loves) Hoiberg for several years would call him up about the possibility of being their coach?

Didn't Archie miller turn down some offers this year? Who was that? Think he signed a new contract as well.

Ha, a friend of mine is a huge Flyer fan. She graduated from there and would **** herself if he left.

@MurphyKeith: I'm hearing Bulls, Twolves, Magic, and Pelicans have all reached out to Hoiberg. No surprise. Bulls charging hardest, but Twolves in play

@MurphyKeith: Keep eye on lottery. If Twolves get high pick, makes job more attractive for Hoiberg-or anyone. Door not closed at ISU, but NBA salary dbl.

@MurphyKeith: Not about money, but it never hurts to make double. Also hearing Hoiberg believes, in part, he may leave ISU in better shape now vs later.

@MurphyKeith: Hoiberg silence deafening, causing frustrations at ISU, but nothing Fred can really say right now. Nothing decided.

I didn't think he was this high of a commodity. Fred, IMO, still doesn't leave ISU.

Yeah...this would be what is the down fall for Iowa State. How could we ever survive the loss of a coach.

Please.

1. Fred would leave us in good shape (player wise)

2. Fred would likely have some say in who our next coach is

3. A clean break means that Fred could always come back to the program if the NBA doesn't work out.

No, just surprising we hadn't heard about given all the info that's been flying around. I see someone ate their **** flakes this morning.

No. He shouldn't have any say.

I think his opinion is a valid one. Hes proven he can mesh personalities well, would help if he knew someone who could continue that.

If Pollard needs to have Fred find us our next coach, Pollard should not be our AD.
