Iowa State assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger, Valparaiso’s Bryce Drew, Stephen F. Austin’s Brad Underwood, and N.C. Central’s LeVelle Moton.

Who are the other two?

Super secret mystery guys no one will ever know. Their names were placed in two sealed envelopes and put in Fort Knox and the President's Secret Book from the National Treasure movies.

What is hard to understand? Its probably smart to keep someone from the current staff on staff. Its probably smart to bring someone you are already familiar with along with you. We pretty much know that if his current assistant doesn't get the head job at Murray State, he'll be coming along. You MUST let that domino fall before you make your final decisions.

Did I say something was hard to understand? It's not hard to understand, however that doesn't make it any less concerning.

Honestly, he may also want to talk to the current players more to see what they have to say about the assistant coaches before deciding who he retains or asks to stay on the staff.

Yeah, the guy from his previous staff is probably in on that pretty impressive list of recruits, and the same could be said of guys on Fred's former staff. Perfect world we get one off each I would think.

That's probably part of his plan. He is conducting one-on-one's with the players this week and completing his staff sometime next week.

I would be more concerned if he made rash decisions.

"I'm keeping everyone on staff because I have no plan on who to get players to come to a power 5 conference and have not thought for years on how I would build a staff if I got a job in a power 5 conference. I have no idea how these guys are at coaching or if we see eye-to-eye on recruiting or at least have some of the same recruiting philosophies, but darn it all, they are recruiting players that the last coach at Iowa State had and I can't risk that those players would decide not to go to Iowa State because I have no idea what kind of players should come play for me. I just need to trust that anyone the previous staff was recruiting is definitely who should come play for me."

Sounds like your line of thinking.

General Hy-Vee's chicken is pretty top shelf. Dollar for Dollar a pretty decent facsimile of a Chinese dish

It's far from real Chinese food, but okay. I just put quotes around it - calling that stuff Chinese food is not right LOL

I'm sure he will get some feedback today in the 1 on 1's, but I would also guarantee that he has some assistant candidates that the players will like as well.

Sometimes change is good.

Really? H-V General's is as authentic as the food at "The American Cowboy Bar" in Beijing. House specialty - deep fried baby sparrows.

I liked what I heard. Someone needs to tell him about Fareway though before he blows through that $1.5 million. I am embarrassed that he gets Randy right away though, I hope someone told him about him in advance.

Depends on how we want to define "Chinese Food". Around here Pick Up Stix and Panda Express say they are Chinese, but they are much different than a more hole in the wall kind of place.

I'll give Hy-Vee the benefit of the doubt as the General is good eats at a good price.

Now...shouldn't we turn our attention to Gunner's points and put our new coach on the hot seat?!? The man is dropping the ball on the recruiting front!

He hasn't even picked the ball up yet.

my honest guess is the former Murray asst or current Murray asst gets the gig or TJ. Prohm will likely bring in one of the two that didn't get the Murray HC gig and TJ. Then that leaves one more asst spot to fill.

My girlfriend is from China and has been in the US for less than 2 years. I've been to China before. She also cooks me authentic meals and I also eat in Flushing a bit, which is probably about the most authentically Chinese part of NYC. HyVee's Chinese food is not real Chinese food. Sorry to burst your bubble.

It might be good food, but it would be like saying burritos are authentic Mexican food.
