Missed in all this madness is the fact that he became coach here because Hy-Vee in West Ames has better (sorta) Chinese Food than any Kroger's in Murray. Top of the line water, great schools, reasonable cost of living, low unemployment and great grocery store Chinese food. Why did Fred move again?

Also, I did Google grocery stores in Murray, KY. That is the extent of my research for this reply.

He hasn't even picked the ball up yet.

If you believe that then I don't know what to tell you.

Being disappointed that TJ didn't get the job is one thing... acting like Prohm on day 1 is trying to tank recruiting because he hasn't announced his staff yet is another thing entirely. I'm sure he has reached out to our recruits already and I'm sure he will continue to do so over the next couple of weeks as the staff is finalized. Hey... that is just my guess as I've never been a college hoops coach taking over a program. Have you?

Look if I'm the only person in the world that has concerns about having a head coach at ISU that has no P5 recruiting experience and has no known ties to the areas that we traditionally recruit then so be it. I'm not going to change my mind or be less concerned. And it has nothing to do with TJ. I'd rather have Underwood than Prohm because I think his resume is a better fit for ISU as well.

I think I will stick to Americanized Chinese food. When my son went to China, they were offering him all sorts of odd critters to eat. He ate a lot of rice.

Ha, I've heard the same thing from some Chinese professors that I know. the actual Chinese dishes are quite a bit different than their American counterparts.

I like to try new stuff but I may agree about the Americanized Chinese food. A friend went to China for work and ate pigeon and donkey at the two authentic Chinese meals he ate. Every meat was chopped up and cooked with the bone still in it.

Ugh. He mentioned sea horses, scorpions, and locusts too. I'm fine with not aunthentic.

From what I've heard, he shared list of his proposed staff during the interview process. However, if you saw the video of Monte talking about the staff last night, it's pretty apparent that how Prohm handles the hiring has the potential to create some rifts in the team. For example, rumor has it that Mann was already out the door, but if it comes off looking like Mann leaving was Prohm's choice, some of the guys on the team may have some hard feelings.

They will know who's choice it is once it all shakes out.

I agree that Underwood's resume is better, but personality and style fits are much more important than resume.

China is a MASSIVE country - the most populous country in the entire world. There are numerous different types of cuisines. To say what you're saying above and think that's what all the food is, is nothing short of naive and frivolous. That would be like someone going down to the south, seeing them eating all sorts of weird **** and then concluding that all American food is BS and weird, and no "normal" things are eaten.

Go to China on the street and get some street food, you'll see just as much regular lamb, pork, and chicken breast being offered up as anything else. Go to any restaurant and you'll see the same thing. It's not "abnormal" but if you seriously think that Chinese cuisine is all like that, then you are very ignorant.

Should be fun and are very fortunate having almost all of our players back including the newly appointed mayor @GeorgesNiang20 > it will be interesting to see how Steve's current recruits respond to his ISU job and if any of them will remain interested in coming this far North. Really talented players on his list. Congrats to Coach Prohm and welcome to Cyclone Country.
