this site has just gone into the gutter lately, every thread on the front page is a joke, why this constant douchebaggery is tolerated I have no idea, sad really and it's going to destroy this site longer term, but we have reached the point where idiots outnumber the fair minded people

Here nor there
there's a fine line sometimes between proselytizing and practicing your faith. It's important to not push faith, or especially your specific faith, onto the players. But being a "whole person" coach and talking about spirituality, or using religious texts as guides/motivation seems like a plus to me.

I am all for having a guy that connects with recruits, whatever that connection may be or whether it is genuine or not. Works for Drew.

However that isn't the angle IMO. This is more of a JP coaching search issue, not a religion issue. He looks at and overweights externalities too much imo. Stop with the whole fits ISU, little college on the prairie narrative, family and faith man, honor before victory copout. Winning fits at ISU. Seems like every hire he goes on and on about that ****. Just hire the most likely to win out of the candidates we can afford.

He's selling the new coach to Iowans when he does that. JP ain't perfect, but he does understand how to sell to Iowans.

Cyclone fan of 20 years, Bulls fan of 30 years. Only other team I'm passionate about is ISU football.

I really didn't know if I could even continue being a sports fan in '15/'16 after the past month. After watching the press conference today, I am 100% as big a fanatic for ISU basketball.

I also was back in Chicago this week for work (just moved away from Chicago) and reading the local papers and listening to local radio it was clear that I am possibly an even bigger Bulls fan than I have been since I was 7 years old. Consider my 'jaded' Cyclones/Bulls fan stage officially over.

There isn't 'another Fred' but if the goal was to hire somebody to keep things going based on what Hoiberg built, I don't know that we could do that much better.

That ISU football thing...it's not like I've ever really been stressed about them, any type of pulse is generally just a cool bonus.

The more I read about Prohm, the more I love this hire. I think k it is an absolute home run hire.

P.S. I think it is time for Gunnerclone to STFU. We all know your opinions. Continuing to post on and on just makes you look like a baby.

Seems to be a shot a TJ. Or at least an answer to the TJ crowd. Pollard had lost some of my respect during the search but I like his rational and he has regained my full confidence (not that it matters).

Why did Pollard lose some of your respect?

This is unfair. Chipotle uses fresh ingredients and doesn't have everything prepared and sitting under warming lamps for hours on end. Apples vs. Oranges. However, if I have to make my concession speech, I gladly will.

If you believe that, I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Nebraska.
