>Sam Richardson gets his first Big 12 win as a starter against Kansas.
>I don't see us winning down in Lubbock, bu I expect a hard fought game with little defense.
>TCU and Baylor are going to beat us senseless.
>I think Texas continues to struggle with C Strong, we've been way too close to beating them lately.

I think we take down KU for our one and only win of the season.
I am so ready for this team to prove me wrong. I hope they play with a chip on their shoulder and find a way to do some good things.

But until it happens, I have lost faith in the football program to even be mediocre.

3 and whatever with a huge losing streak to end the year. Sound familiar? Keeping it rolling. Just hoping not to go 0'fer in conference this year.

I'm not confident in Rhoads, but I am with Mangino. Offense will be good enough to win us some games this year.

Flip OSU and WV and give us an extra loss in the first five games and I am on board. We can start 4-1 but I doubt we do.

In reality I feel like we will get 4 or 5 wins but really want to get back to 6, so made it work. I feel like I won't be surprised if we win the first 4 games, but also not surprised if we lose any of those 4. Should make for an interesting season.

I prefer to look at it the same way each season: Which games do we have a fighting chance at winning?

This year we have a fighting chance at beating
UNI
Iowa
Toledo
Kansas
Texas Tech
Texas
Oklahoma State
Kansas State
West Virginia

None of those teams are going to be all that great. OSU will probably be the best, but they're relying on a new QB and the game is at home late in the year. How many will we win? I have no idea. Maybe none. We could honestly go 0-12. But I never look at it like that. I don't buy tickets to and watch games of a team I have no hope for.

28 pts againt the TCU defense is extremely optimistic. Almost as optimistic as thinking this team can get 6 wins.

Rhoads hangs his hat on the Texas victory and Jamie keeps him for another season.

I'll put us at 6-6. I think we have as good a chance as ever at starting 4-0, or maybe even 5-0 depending on how Tech looks. We just don't have the talent to hang with TCU/Baylor/OU, and I think OSU will be good enough that they'll control the game even if it looks close on the scoreboard.

I think Texas and KSU will be toss-ups since we've played both school close the past few years but have lost all of them. Since 2009, we've played KSU and UT 11 times. Eight of those 11 games were decided by 7 points or less, and we only won one of them. At ISU, Rhoads wins 44% of games decided by 7 points or less (11 out of 25). I have to think we'll start regressing to the mean here and putting a few more close games in the win column.

I think we'll be good enough to beat Tech and WVU - both games were close throughout last year - but both are on the road so I have a feeling we'll trip up one or both.

We have to beat Kansas.

Anything worse than 3-2 in the first five games, and it's probably time to start thinking about coaching changes. I wouldn't normally say that, but with our schedule all the most winnable games are early. If we don't get a good start, we're going to be terrible once apathy and attrition set in.

Clever score choice for the OSU win. (Maybe that was inadvertent)
