Getting to 6 wins...

I think it's legitimately possible. I've been watching a lot of college football so far this season and I must say that I think it's a down year for the big 12. Let's look at the some of the teams so far...
Kansas is a win. They might be the worst P5 team in history, no hyperbole.
Texas was out gained by Rice by over 200 yards. They only won due to offensive miscues by Rice to the tune of 5 turnovers. They are horrible on offense.
Toledo is a solid team but by no means unbeatable. Arkansas threw all over them because they couldn't run...if ISU can get it going in the passing game they can pull it out.
KState is using a qb that's never played a snap of qb until this season. Their offense, passing and running, looked awful against UTSA this last weekend.
Texas Tech still has no defense to go with their offense...it'll take a great effort to out score them but it's by no means impossible.
That's 6 wins. With some luck and execution (everyone's favorite word) it really can happen. Have a little faith.

I would say start Grant against TCU and Joel against Baylor to save SR for the bowl.

Looks like a down year for every conference.

WVU is greatly improved.
Texas is slightly improved.
OU, Baylor and TCU are about the same (very strong).
Kansas State seems about normal.

Possible wins against KU, Tech and oSu as those teams stink. (though oSu is probably better than ISU)

I forgot to mention the fact that outside of Oklahoma and maybe TCU, Iowa will have the best defense ISU will see this season. I refuse to believe that ISU will be held to 17 points by anyone outside of those two teams. Iowa has a very good defense this year.
I believe that this team will pick up the pace on offense...there is just too much talent to squander.

Texas is improved? Improved from what?

You're giving both these teams listed way too much credit

KSU will beat ISU, there is no doubt about that. None. OSU will finish in the top 3. They are better than they have shown, once they gel, watch out Big 12. Texas was horrible, how did we do against them last year? Tech was horrible last year, how did we do against them? I think WVU is pretty good. I do not think OU is that great. We will see though. 6 wins is almost impossible especially when there are 3 rake your lawn saturday's with TCU, Baylor and OU.

Iowa was the third worst team on the schedule so this is just plain delusional.

I agree that 6 wins is possible this year. Just as likely as losing out. I don't think either will happen but they are possible. In fact, losing out is probably more likely. That being said, I can see a path to 6 wins.

Bet on it? Any team not named Oklahoma or TCU that can hold ISU under 17.

WVU, KSU, Baylor. Have you looked at some of our scoring under Rhoads?

How many points would we have scored against UNI without the consistant poor punting? It was all ISU could do to manage 24 points with awesome field position the whole game.

Bundrage fumble, two missed field goals. 13 points left on the field. That's nothing new for us though.

It took a miracle pass for Texas to beat us last year. We have greatly improved on defense and haven't gotten worse offensively; meanwhile Texas looks even worse than last year. We barely lost to Texas Tech too who struggled against Sam Houston St this year. If you want to compare to last year don't use those two teams.

Why not just wait and see instead of unnecessarily making yourself miserable. It can make yourself a happier person.:spinny:

Not making myself miserable. I am resigned to the fact that ISU will be lucky to win 4 games. The way this coaching staff is approaching the games so far it seems as though they know they are coming back for 2016. No urgency. If they don't care, neither do I.

I don't mean to be mean about this, but I don't think there can be a more ignorant post ever posted on this site (if you're serious, please, please, please tell me you're not serious.)

I just can't believe anyone could possibly think that.

If you don't care why are you posting in this thread or any thread in the football forum?
