Concerning the many appeals to have seen Lanning play more vs TCU, who is making that coaching decision? Is it Rhoads or Mangino? Remember, Mangino came with great hope of adding some inspiration into the offense, but results have been disappointing. How much rein is Rhoads giving him? Some posts have indicated desire for him to take over - but what would we see - more of the same or not?

Rhoads is in control and that's the problem. Two weeks in a row where the press conference showed the ugly reality of the situation.
Recruiting? Conservatism? Playcalling? Fan enthusiasm? Halftime return policy? The wind? The oline stagnant bodies? The blue sky? Flat passes?
Will we ever have a B12 offense?????
Pretty sure he leaves most of the offensive decisions up to Mangino. However, even if he is in control, why is that a problem? He's the head coach. That's his job. You might not think he should be the head coach anymore, but while he's here he can and should have control over whatever the hell he wants.
Rhoads said that the offensive staff has complete control over when Lanning plays. Unless, of course, it comes down to a final decision. Then it's his to make. What does that mean?
Rhoads is the head coach. Even if he claims to give Mangino 100 percent control its still on Rhoads that our backup QB was benched for making a perfect throw and scoring. Then giving a stupid answer to the elephant in the room. Its pathetic now.
I think the press conference solidified that he's not in control and that our HC has very little to do with what goes on offense. Idk why/where I think this but hasn't CPR always been hands off when it comes to offensive subs? Seems like it came up a few years back when we were rotating RBs with Woody, Johnson and James White. For whatever reason, I thought at that time it was at the RB coaches discretion...regardless, CPR is to blame for Lanning not playing. Either directly by not pulling rank during games or practices or by giving his OC (who had been out of the game during the biggest offensive revolution in the decades and is out of touch with what it takes to win now) full authority.
Hate to bring this up, but with all the fans callign for Lanning - it is known that he has difficulty with the playbook. I'm sure Mangenius has limited patience for it and so he doesn't play or he is provided "packages" that he can grasp.
