Just think how many we can win if Joel completes a few more passes. Loved the effort and win tonight. Can't say enough about the D and OL.

Don't bother with those guys. One is trying to explain how Rhoads making a change at oc is somehow bad after a win proving the opposite. Let me get this straight... it was Rhoads fault Lanning wasn't playing when he fired his oc for not playing lanning.

holy cap that's funny.

Rhoads does need to do more. But the reality of the day is isu shut out texas.

Losers can try and change the message but today isnt changing.

Just look at the number of shut outs isu has had on defense and the number of times the Texas offense has been shut out in their history.

end of story. Great game coaches and players. Keep it rolling.

I feel for the most part the majority of the fanbase is realistic, the Iowa and Toledo games are what really stings.

Like many I saw Lanning in the Ia State Championship game and liked his ball handling and power run game. Simply put he brings an extra threat the D needs to watch for. He's not the pure passing threat we see with most B12 teams but he freezes the linebackers because he can plow through the line like a fullback. Defenses can't play the same way when we have SR in. SR is perhaps a better pure passer but D's can play pass defense with SR in as no threat to run. Now if I can see that why couldn't Rhoads? I fault him for being stubborn to the point of being fired. Lanning and Warren had the best pedigrees coming out of HS. Why did it take the coaches so long to use them? Go back and Google Warrens HS highlights on YouTube. He made defenses look like they had suction cup cleats. He was a 4Star ranked player. He starts on any B12 team. Why didn't our coaches see that at the season start?? Finally, you may think our D played great. They did and deserve praise. But the O stayed on the field and controlled the clock allowing the D to rest. When has our D ever had that luxury? Just think back over the past few seasons about the high powered offenses the B12 has had. Everyone thought they had great D's right? Until they played great teams in bowl games and their O's couldn't ball control and they had to play longer stretches on defense. Suddenly they yielded points and the pressure is shifted to the offenses. Long point here but if your O doesn't stay on the field your D gets exposed. Tonite our D looked unlike the ISU D we usually see but the simple reason was our O controlled the clock enough to have really fresh legs out there on D. I don't give Rhoads the credit. We should have beaten Toledo and Iowa with Lanning and Warren in both games.

Let's see how it goes from here on out before we start dishing out 10 more years on the contract. I'll stand by my thoughts on the matter and believe beating a bad Texas team doesn't save jobs.

Was tonight a great win? Yes. Should we celebrate that? Absolutely.

But at the end of the season a full evaluation has to be done. The successes like tonight will be weighed against the failures (like getting beaten by Toledo or destroyed by Tech) and a final conclusion will be arrived at. If he finishes at 3-9, even this win wont save him. he has a chance at 4 or 5 wins.

One solid game and we are suddenly transformed into a powerhouse team & Rhoads is coach of the year. Give me a break. Rhoads & his staff 110% still need to be fired and we need to find a coach that can get us to a level where winning over 6 games a season is the norm. 3-4, even 5 wins a year is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Come on guys. With the right coach we can become a solid football program year after year. We dont need a big name coach to win.

Waiting to see if we can actually give OU a game for the first time in decades before I get too excited. Really just enjoying the win right now and trying not to read into it too much. Kind of like v.s. West Virginia a couple years back

How about everyone calm down and withhold judgement...pro and con...until we see how the things go over the next few weeks. Those who throw up a straw man argument and claim the pro-Rhoads fans are acting as if we are suddenly a football juggernaut...are just childish. On the other hand, its silly to pretend that one great performance against what is most likely an average team, proves we have turned some corner.

The truth is the team HAS started playing better as of the 2nd half of the Baylor game...and that trend seems to have solidified with Lanning starting and playing very well in his first game. Other aspects of the team seem to be steadily improving as well., So there is reason for hope, but none of us will really know much until we watch these next four games.

So we should all be in wait and see mode, with open minds as to whether or not we should retain this staff or let them go. If we are competitive in all these games and pull out a win or two...we keep the current staff. Its pretty straightforward.

The OU game is very important. We need to avoid being crushed cause it will likely curb our small moment of upward progress. Gotta play the sooners tough.

Beating Texas was nice, but let's face it, Texas is a bad football team this year. I expected us to win. And so did the Texas fans sitting in front of us. Before the game they were talking about a lot of turmoil and division amongst the Texas players right now, and that we were catching them at a great time last night.

That said, I'm taking a wait and see approach. Beat OU and OSU and I'll welcome Rhoads back. Compete with Oklahoma and beat Oklahoma State and I'd probably be okay with him coming back. Lose both games and send him packing because that will mean we will have had ZERO quality wins...again.

I'm a Paul Rhoads supporter until the Day I Die. In the words of my girl Taylor Swift, "Haters are gonna hate, hate, hate." CPR won some big in-state recruits in the past few years and they are paying off now. Not to mention the hire of Louis Ayeni. And the big time juco recruits. Listen haters, Paul Rhoads is here stay.

The first sentence made your credibility start to lean. The second one officially pushed it off the cliff.

It appears to me that you are not taking the "wait and see approach".

You don't like it when we win football games as long as CPR is coach. I wish more of you would just come out and own it.
