Boy, three weeks ago I was all for firing him. I may still be, I guess I just don't know. This year is almost what I was afraid would happen. Just good enough to show some promise, but not good enough to really rally behind. I think we beat KSU and it'll be close with WVU. That's 4-5 wins, and a blown 35 yard field goal from 5-6 wins. Our losses would be to Iowa, Toledo, TT, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma state, all ranked teams other than TT.

I don't know if that's good enough, but what I've seen the last 3 weeks has been encouraging, and what I will see the last 4 weeks will be dispositive. Gotta give CPR credit, he's kept the guys together through a tough stretch and they still seem to be playing hard for him.

Fourth conference win in three years. Tap the brakes dude.

Jury is still out. Still......the team looked very good last night. Very good. Hopeful for more wins. Play out the rest of the games and see where we stand.

But last night was a very encouraging win. We needed it.

Great win.

Last night and also the second half of Baylor. Last night proved that the second half of Baylor was no fluke, and that it wasn't Baylor taking it easy.

But it also proved that the coaches have had it all wrong for a long time.

Anyway, win a couple more, and I'm happy to have Rhoads back.

THIS Texas team hasn't won a national championship. Their last one was in 2005, when most of their current players were probably in grade school.

THIS Texas team did beat a very, very good Oklahoma team. And it is Texas.

Yes. The coaches has it wrong for a long time. It has been said many times that Mark Mangino was given complete control of the offense. It appears there was quite a rift. And ultimately it was the resistance to start Lanning that led to Mangino being fired.

I heard on the Cyclone Reaction Show that Rhoads commented that the firing of Mangino was a difficult one. And that Rhoads had extremely high praise for how assistant coaches Tommy Mangino and Brandon Blaney have performed despite the personal relationship with Mangino in a difficult situation. Rhoads said they are true professionals. Which is kind of cool when you think about it.

Don't bother with those guys. One is trying to explain how Rhoads making a change at oc is somehow bad after a win proving the opposite. Let me get this straight... it was Rhoads fault Lanning wasn't playing when he fired his oc for not playing lanning.

holy cap that's funny.

Rhoads does need to do more. But the reality of the day is isu shut out texas.

Losers can try and change the message but today isnt changing.

Just look at the number of shut outs isu has had on defense and the number of times the Texas offense has been shut out in their history.

end of story. Great game coaches and players. Keep it rolling.
Wait who is the head coach again? It is absolutely Rhoads fault. Get out.

A hater must post; it’s part of his being. It’s impossible for him to be objective, he must destroy anyone with a different point of view.

I'd say his point is that Texas is not only a historic powerhouse of a football program, it has had tremendous modern day success. Further, that even in down years, the UT football team is full of 4-5 star elite athletes and so any big victory over that program is a solid accomplishment...particularly a 24-0 trouncing as we saw last night.

Of course, NONE of that is true for ANY of the programs you listed as part of a weak attempt to make a bogus comparison between UT football and those other teams. Nobody has suggested ISU defeated a national championship caliber Texas football team, just that we beat a traditionally strong UT team full of elite caliber recruits and very highly paid staff.

Nebraska lost to Purdue yesterday. Nebraska is a historic powerhouse with championships. Does that make Purdue good?

So has Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Army, Navy, a school named Washington & Jefferson, and nearly every Ivy League school. Your point?

Paul made this point and it is valid- Texas recruits kids that won't even consider Iowa State. Even if they aren't playing together or being well coached, a dominating win over a team with that talent, by a team like ISU, is a significant thing.

I'm surprised this chump didn't say how 'proud' of this performance he was.

These threads today are almost a joke... On second thought, they may be meant for as a joke.
