46 more yards to 1,000. This kid is something else. Only a damn freshman. I'm at the point where I hope we get to 5 wins to save rhoads.... Because if this staff goes then I'm afraid a lot of our best talent will be transferring out as well. Maybe with sturdy in control of the offense we can get this **** together. Warren has been fantastic all season though. Even during our losses he's been a huge bright spot.

This guy has the perfect blend of power, vision, and speed. Texas couldn't bring him down and then he outran everyone on that play that was called back. I agree, I hope our staff is back next year. We have some great skill players coming back.

First...nobody is transferring. At least anyone who is worth a damn. U think MW or AL or others want to sit an entire year? Warren is at a place that might make him one of the top RB in the country his freshman year. Relax. WTS..I don't entirely disagree on hoping we win a couple more. Kstate is really bad right now so if we don't win that game I'll be very surprised. Back to MW...kid is a stud...he might be leading the nation in yards had he started from game 1.

I can see Oklahoma keying on stopping him, so maybe he won't get there this week. I'm not betting against him though, Warren is tough as nails!

Just borderline related, but dismissed ISU defensive player David Irving had a blocked kick yesterday for the Cowboys. We can still get top flight players, winning will make it easier.

At his current pace he'll finish the year with around 1,450 yards

That would be awesome!

Just to add a ? Do you think Warren could get 1st team all big 12? The only RB with slightly better stars is Linwood from Baylor. If MW finishes tops in the conference is there any reason he wouldn't be 1st team?

If he keeps it up, he'll make the freshman all-american team for sure. Can a redshirt freshman make that team?

Linwood would have to be injured. Difficult for redshirt freshman to be first team from any school.

I've said this before, Warren's HS highlight videos were unbelievable. I watched Tommy Mister and all the RB's we were recruiting. Nobody looked as good as MW. He could run with a slight hesitation then accelerate through a hole and then gone. He didn't need to knock defenders down because they couldn't get to him. Tackling at the FBS level is infinitely better than HS so having the speed and magic to fake gives him that extra fraction to elude the good tacklers. Now add Lanning in with his true in your face power you now give defenses more to worry about. OU will just try to smash mouth us at the line which will open the short routes for our receivers. If we keep our O out there and sustain long drives our D can play well. It may be too much to ask but I see a closer game than most expect. What I keep asking tho is why Rhodes didn't see Joel and MW sooner?

Wasn't Warren recruited pretty hard by OU until they got Perine? If that's the case, I wonder if he'll be running with a little extra motivation this weekend.

The coaches all-conference has 2 RBs on the first team. The AP has one and an all-purpose. I won't expect him to get much accolades because of the team he plays for though.

Mike Warren was "supposedly" the Sooner back-up plan if they did not get the commitment from Californian Joe Mixon (country's top rated high school RB). OU got Mixon and we got Warren. I'm good with that............
