Stop moving the goal posts to fit your narrative.

If we hire Tony Alford and you try and argue that he isn't a position coach, you are crazy.

He might be the right guy for the job, but don't pretend that he is anything but a position coach.

After the last 9 years of trying to instill a spread, I'm ready to move on. I've enjoyed watching the offense recently with more of a power game. Really think Ditka is the man for the job.

ISU really, really needs to do exactly what Iowa is doing, only better. Go under center, get a fullback, run out of the I, and then be willing the throw out of it too. Use your TEs to make LBers play pass defense, go into the shotgun and spread when you need to pass, but try to grind it out for the most part. Iowa is no more talented offensively than ISU, except maybe at QB. They are just way better coached.

No more talented?

OL? Nope. Note even close
RB? Nope.
WR? probably overall but Iowa is still solid. Tevaun Smith is = to ISU's "best"
TE? Not even close.
QB? "Maybe at QB"? What are you smoking? Maybe?

Wow.

to be fair you have been throwing **** against the wall all day.

something is bound to stick

To be fair, I've been very consistent that a position coach in a Power 5 school is what we are going to get. Or a low-major head coach.

Stanford, K-State, and Iowa are who we need to be modeling the program after. Don't care who, just find someone who can do it.
Wisconsin and Michigan State both modeled their programs after Iowa. It's a solid plan.

Of course Snyder is a witch but he did coach under Fry as well but I'm not sure their model is that "followable". Unless you can find the next Snyder.

Is anyone else tired of the "Iowa State ties" candidates already? It happens every time there is a coaching search.

Fact is Loney, Alford, Sage, and several others have no resume for a Power 5 job. They only get mentioned because of a previous stint with Iowa State.

We've sucked for 100 years. We don't have to have someone with ties to Iowa State IMO.

Look at you puffing your chest. I guess that's what 11-0 does to a guy.

I'm just glad the Hawkeye fan entered the ISU coaching search thread on Cyclone Fanatic to defend Iowa's talent level by responding to a point that was totally incidental to the purpose of the thread. It's what I would do if ISU were 11-0.

Wisconsin and Michigan State modeled their program after Iowa? So did Alabama and the New England Patriots.
