If its true that Pollard has zero interest in Scott Frost then that just further solidifies his incompetence

What about Frost makes you believe he can succeed here? Not trying to be mean, just don't see what anyone else does other than he's at Oregon, and is young.

When a candidate like Frost initiates contact and expresses interest, I would hope you take a look at him.

What makes you think he can't? Connections in the Midwest for recruiting and is an innovative offensive mind. I'm not saying hire the guy but at least give him a ******* interview.

We seriously need to reconsider whatever criteria we use to select football coaches.

So basically all of the candidates being discussed here seem to be legit candidates? That's pretty cool. I've been impressed with the level of discussion and realism here over the past few days.

I'm not on the Tony Alford bandwagon but I don't know that much about him. But I'd take any of those sitting head coaches here.

Niumatalolo intrigues me, but I do want to know more. He could be a good hire.
I highly doubt he would leave Navy, he has turned down better jobs in the past to stay. He does fit JP's religious requirement. I kid you not but he claims God tells him when to take timeouts and called certain plays, he said it in an interview.

Really? We have a list full of established head coaches on the list. If you are talking about Frost, I'm sure Pollard will at least talk to his camp.

And people thought no one would want this job and we'd end up with a position coach....

Yea, that last Buffalo to Big XII move worked out well...no thanks.

Not interested in Tony Alford as head coach either. We got to watch Paul make 7 years worth of mistakes learning on the job. Hire someone that has experience running a program. If he fits as a coordinator, great.

Matt Campbell or Bob Stitt are IMO the best options out there. Toledo under Campbell has had RB get 1100+ yards every year. He has been an OL coach for years. Stitt is obviously an offensive genius.

Iowa State can't survive running some up tempo spread system. Our recruiters can't go into Texas convincing spread QBs and WRs to come up to Ames, they'll be the 7th or 8th option at best. ISU can build linemen from the upper midwest, and convince talented RBs in Texas they'll get the rock 25-30 times a game here. Turn ISU into a team that punishes its opponents.

If that's the reason why you don't want Leipold then you can't possibly want Matt Campbell. Do you realize how awful Tim Beckman was at Illinois? It was a disaster.

I'm not sold on Frost. He's done a good job maintaining the offense at Oregon, but he's never really had to build one himself. I'd like to see head coaching experience, preferably with a team that's found a way to win with less advantages than their peers. Having Nike money at a place like Oregon doesn't exactly prepare you to recruit to ISU.

Based on nothing but first impressions, I like Wells and Campbell.

The Oregon fans don't love him, but we didn't love Herman, so what the hell do fans know?

Nebraska didn't think he was ready last year and picked a guy who has them at 5 wins with 1 to go. That says something.

I don't know why, I find myself intrigued with Fritz. Think maybe he could be our football program's "Johnny."

Is that fair without knowing whats all been happening behind the scenes? Not debating whether Frost would be a good guy for the job or not, but don't you think its quite possible that JP and those who help him with these things, plus ISU higher ups that weigh in on things like this, just might have insisted he only considers someone who's already had 'head' coaching experience? I don't know one way or the other if thats a necessary trait of our next hire, but several ISU people have already said they didn't want to follow a coordinator (Rhoads when he came) with another coordinator.
