This isn't same Illinois team that played Chicago st close. They got 3 players back off injury recently. Niang and Nader being out same time generally not a good thing vs a tall athketic mid pack big ten team

NCAA should've gone to six fouls when they changed the rules this offseason. But the blue bloods won that argument.

Rebounding is terrible. Instead of watching the ball and hoping for it to fall back down, why not try going up and getting it?

Some people on here don't want to hear the truth they have their mind made up that Illinois sucks. I think we win if we stay out of bad foul trouble but this win will look pretty good by the end of the year. Assuming we win of course.

Umm, Illinois does suck. Gotta do better.
I can't take more "learning opportunities" this year.

ISU really needs one of the two freshman bigs to step up and be able to give a minute/minute 1/2 or so in the first half to give these guys a rest. Every game so far this season there is at least one stretch where ISU goes into a funk because of fatigue. Other teams make runs every time. I know Burton will help, but one more big putting in a couple of minutes would be nice. Instead of being up 14-15 or so, ISU is up one at half. It's amazing how these guys run and gun with no depth.

Re: Defense — I think the on-ball pressure and intensity is better than some Hoiberg teams, but rebounding technique still seems like an afterthought. I still think a necessity to "save fouls" among the key players doesn't help things like attempting to take charges, battling at the basket, and such.

Need the players to fully buy into the notion that Prohm's way is better than their's...If they want to be elite, they need to defend and rebound consistently. They say all the right things, but they quit the last 10 minutes of last night's game and they aren't doing either very well tonight.

Yah, we look like we are playing a lot of backyard ball and not playing well coached ball. I have a feeling that they have basically been telling Prohm that they know what they are doing and that he just needs to stay out of the way and enjoy the ride. Maybe they need a bad loss to wake them up to the fact that they need to be coached. I don't want to see it, but maybe they need a bad loss to wake them up.

You think you're special cause you got in at Ill +8.5?
