And what is a good fan exactly? I'm not doing cartwheels over the hire. Does that make me a "bad" fan. Given the bunker mentality that permeates that athletics office, I would say I am in their eyes. But they sure as hell will be willing to cash my check this spring when renewal time comes around.

If you are tweeting/emailing the AD the day of the hire that you think it was a mistake, then I think you are acting like an *******. The decision was made, the AD who has a lot more knowledge about the candidates and their strengths and weaknesses and who was willing to come here. I think the AD makes the best decision that they can make. It's not like Jamie is sitting there wondering how to hire a coach that will fail.

If you have a problem with the hire on day 1, I think it is appropriate to talk about it on message boards or among your friends.

Is our AD 5 years old?

A reason the death of FB and Twitter would be a nice thing (although impossible obviously)...someone's real maturity can show up on a screen no matter how they appear otherwise.

Learned this a long time ago from seeing co-workers, former acquaintances/friends etc. through the eyes of the interwebs.

JP has typically done nice things for the brand of ISU, but at times just comes off as petty.

Man that truly was the best... Being able to personally interact with Bruce was truly a treat.

Its amazing that Bruce got anything done at all with having to post on 4 cyclone sites constantly. But yeah lets all pretend to be embarrassed about Jamie sending a tweet at some nothing donor.

Yet people will stick up for him and wish he wouldn't of been let go. He was on this site 24/7 and picked fights with anyone who didn't agree with his ideas.

Plus, I've seen Bruce chase away more big donors with his smug bitter beer face then Pollard has ever dreamed of.

He was on all the major cyclone sites at the time and it was awesome.

And he pretended to be a regular fan. Except he was really bad at it.

He was an incompetent gem of a guy.

At least when Jamie overreacts to a stupid fan, he's name is on the tweet.

It's been 10 years with Jamie, so it is easy to forget how much improvement there has been made since BVD.

I would honestly say the exact opposite. I'd be surprised if Pollard has ever opened a CF message board thread in his life.

Didn't he tweet (and then delete) something along the lines of "quit tracking my planes" last Friday? How do you think he knew that? JP has an ego, and I am confident he lurks around here to see what people are saying.

I'm not saying I agree specifically with the way that guy is acting, and I am not part of the customer is always right crowd. I don't think Jamie needs to placate the guy just because he's not excited about the hire. I think he is best just ignoring those things.

Considering what's become of it, you're right.

I love lamp!!!!!

So much angry in this thread. Let me ask you all this, if the guy had the brass to say it to Jamie live and in person, would you be ****** if Jamie reacted that way verbally??? I doubt it...you'd say it was justified.

Although it's not my favorite, the fact that it's over social media shouldn't be a whole lot different than if this guy had walked up to him on the street and said this directly to him.

In short, GTFOI people.

Go State!
