Well might have missed the thread but who do you guys want or have a guess ISU will go after now for OC and QB coaches?

I wouldn't be surprised if Ayeni was the new OC. I wouldn't mind seeing some new blood added to this staff though. Sage as QB coach would be cool though. I wouldn't be opposed to Sturdy being kept around in some capacity either.

I'd be happy with any of the following:

Sage, Seneca, Steele (only against Iowa), Marv Seiler, David Archer, George Amundson. Am I doing this right?

In all seriousness I wouldn't mind Sage being on staff, but usually former players start out as grad assistants or some form of non-recruiting position. At the very least they are very rarely a quarterbacks coach right away. If coaching is in Sage's future, that's great, but I'd like to see him get some experience first before he becomes our QB coach.

I would. Scoring in the second half is fun.

Sturdy scored the second half when he was OC at Washington State. You realize he wasn't the OC here long at all, didn't have much time to prepare, and was running someone else's system right? And I also said in some form, so you can't really put second half scoring on the QB coach either.

Disagree. Had several games to improve and scored 6 points on Saturday.

Having a defensive minded HC, Sophomore QB who's not played much and got no time with the starters, and a freshman RB among several other problems also plays a role in second half scoring.

Also, if Sturdy stays on as QB coach or even QBs and OC I'd rather have Campbell calling plays. I just don't have a good feeling about Sturdy calling plays in somebody else's system again. He's a good coach, and I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him stay on the staff, just in certain capacities, and even that might be a bad idea.

You're going off of one game when the offense clearly got better under him? He did pretty well the second half against Baylor when he first started calling plays. See I can do that too.

Admittedly I don't know much when it comes to coaching staffs but I got to believe sage or Seneca would be great on the recruiting trail. Sage in Iowa, mn, wi, etc and Seneca in Cali or florida or in whatever capacity he could be the most effective. I looked at Alabamas staff and they have 34 coaches compared to isus 15 or so. They had about 5 guys with the title football analyst. Couldn't we bring on one or both and give them a title but use them mainly in recruiting until they prove worthy to be coaching in some capacity. I don't think they should be hired as a coach with no experience. That's to risky but I got to believe they can add value

Ayeni won't be the OC.

The biggest issue was getting out-adjusted at every half. That's coaching. Baylor was different because he basically started right before half. I'm sure CPR has something to do with it, but it seems like he leaves his offenses up to the OC.

I'd like to poach Major Applewhite from Houston or Josh Heuoel from Utah state for OC. Would like sage or Seneca for OC.

With Herman likely stay at Houston so I doubt Applewhite would leave unless it was for a head coaching job somewhere. Roosevelt Maggitt is a GA at Houston and Kenith Pope is their RB coach. Thought it was worth a mention.

I would love to have Sage as QB coach. Not sure what our OC options are.
