That doesn't mean we're going to be "bad", which is what ISUTex referenced in his post. Most people can't mentally configure being "worse" vs. being "bad" so I'll forgive you.
And Goodman stating what is clear to everyone else doesn't make him snarky and classless; just brutally realistic.

He did it in a snarky way to get a rise out of our fan base just like every other professional troll. Could have easily made his point in a different manner without ******* people off but chose not to. I frankly don't care what mush mouth, you, or any other trolls think or say about our team but I'm not surprised to see some people take offense.

It doesn't surprise me it is lost on you that how you say something is what determines if you are being snarky and/or classless, not the accuracy of the statement.

Assuming Monte is gone, I still think anyone who is saying we're going to be bad next year is being a little trolly. We will still be relatively experienced with four upperclassmen in Thomas, Long, Cooke, and Burton, we will still have raw talent with highly rated guys in Burton, Thomas, Malou, and Jackson. And there is always the possibility of adding a solid grad transfer with the minutes available in the front court. It's just too early to look at what we're losing and assume we'll be bad.

And we may even have depth

People over estimate how talented a team has to be to make the NCAA's . All you have to do is be pretty average.

I'm really getting sick of Jeff Goodman. Speculating that Naz is setting up for a grad transfer? Time for Georges to dump him.

Disagree. Unless you have some big wins non-conference, you better go .500 in the conference. That might be easy to do in the big10, but not in our conference. KU, Texas, OU, WV, and Baylor have already signed (or will eventually) some 4/5-star guys. Just because Heild, Ellis, Prince, to name a few that will also be graduating, their rosters are much more solid than ours (at this point). But who knows what we still bring in? Or if Jackson or Malou is big12 ready? Just saying I don't buy it that average gets you in the tournament.

I don't know what's wrong with most of y'all (or the angry twitterverse), but I lol'd hard. Goodman even got a 'follow' from me as soon as he started trolling.

A national journalist is trolling our fan base? I'm chalking that up as a win for us all.

We know that. But do you think the national guys put that much effort into their comments? They look at our lineup and see that we will likely lose all 5 starters.

I see why they say it but it doesn't mean its true. Or that they are trolling Iowa State fans.

One thing Naz's injury will provide is more experience going forward for Hallice, Matt, and Deonte. Yes. We will be losing A LOT, but that is still a good core to make a decent team. We will add a special NBA level talent in Malou. In a straight One-on-one scenario I'll take Malou over Niang. I've heard nothing but good things about Jackson as well. Lets enjoy this year first though.

You'll take a dude that has played 0 minutes of major college basketball over a pre-season all american?
