You can't put Burton on the floor when you need stops. He's the worst defender on the team and it isn't even close.
I leveled my expectations after Naz going out...but dang it, tonight would have set us up to get a reg season title (well, and the other silly losses). LOTS to coach after this game (slop clean up, free throws, boxing out, etc).
How do you blow a 15 point lead at home and play with no heart whatsoever in front of the best fans in America? ******* pathetic.
This season has become a ******* nightmare scenario. Further proof ISU will never be allowed to have nice things.
And to top it all off, the Hawks are ranked #5 and are the darlings of the national media. THIS IS MY WORST ******* NIGHTMARE COME TRUE. WITHOUT QUESTION.

How many wake up calls does this group of players need? It's who they are. Get used to it for a few more months.

Yep. A lot of those 2nd (or 3rd) chance points from WV were because 3-4 ISU players are all standing around watching the ball from about 4 feet from the basket instead of getting position and getting a rebound.
I thought maybe with that 4 point lead they'd close it out, but I knew ISU was in trouble when they themselves got a couple of 2nd and 3rd chances on a possession, and instead of regaining the clock a bit, they just jacked up 3's like they absolutely needed them.
Probably looking at at least 3-4 more losses in the season outside of this game.

Burton >> McKay tonight (and has been for a while, IMO), yet we keep trying to force things with McKay and he's not our answer. Not all McKay's fault though. We thought it was going to be easy after our shots were falling and we jumped out to a 25-10 (!!!) lead. Niang is too careless, not playing like an All-American. Poor defense, poor rebounding effort.

Players are gassed at end of games, especially Niang. We have to play the bench more in second half . We are getting out hustled badly.
In effect, lost that game by blowing the 14-point lead, or whatever it was. Obviously, there was plenty of time left to still get the win after squandering it, but never did seem to snap back into gear after that.
Do you actually watch the games. Every single game Nader let's his guy go past him at least 3 times. He could not even get back to guard the slow white boy. Burton is not a great defender but he tries and had 2 or 3 steals and a block.
