**** West Virginia. This isnt even basketball. Someone please explain how yet again we have more fouls than them? Complete joke.

Whats the most concerning is that is their strategy and the refs still wont call anything. Either foul every time down the court and dont get called, or foul and get called and have 7 guys waiting on the bench to come in and start fouling.

I have no idea what happened to this team on that front. We gave up 13(!!) offensive rebounds in one half. Before last game (where we gave up 20), the most we had given up in an ENTIRE GAME was 13.

Pathetic.

Zone. Can't man up really, unless McKay is in to take care of Williams. And even then, McKay gets beat at least 33% of the time

Is WVU this good at threes normally or is it the old "play ISU and get en fuego" pattern we are used to?
They shot 36%. That's not that good. That's actually terrible when you consider that those are wide open looks for the most part.
You seriously have no complaints of the officiating? I don't have a huge problem with the fouls called on us but the fact they only have 5 and are straight mugging us is terrible.
I don't have many complaints. Stripes aren't losing this game. Turning it over unforced 3 or 4 different times and giving up 13 offensive rebounds are why we're down. We shot 60% from the field. I'd be surprised if WVU has given that up all season.

Points off TO:
WVU 14
ISU 0

2nd chance points:
WVU 17
ISU 2

That isn't the stripes problem.

I'm not saying our defense and rebounding aren't bad, but how many rebounds did the wv player push his way in there. A team that fouls more than anyone else in the country to only have 6 in a half is some bad officiating

I hardly blame the refs but so far it has been bad. Niang with 2 off the ball fouls, players getting shoved from behind and getting called for travels, rebounders getting pushed out of the way.

Its a ******* disgrace. The guys are getting frustrated.

Several good box outs in the first part of the half with multiple, multiple ******* over the backs and push offs that went uncalled.

Try to D them up with a little of the physicality they're showing and we get a whistle here, there, and a couple away from the damn ball.

You get abused like these guys are and tell me you wouldn't get frustrated to the point where you start going away from the fundamentals.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner! How can you play basketball when you don't know what is a foul and what isn't? The crap we are getting called for is minuscule compared to the raping WVU is giving us. I'm not asking for ISU to get all the breaks, I'm asking for consistence for both teams on both sides of the ball and these refs are severely lacking.

There have been some head scratchers for sure. But none of that really matters when you can't grab a rebound.
Take a look at what happens underneath the basket. McKay and Nader get shoved in the back almost every shot. It's easy to say we can't grab a rebound but take a look at why it's happening

Not going to say Iowa State has played great, but a lot of the o rebounds and turnovers are occurring because refs swallow their whistles

Sometimes I seriously wonder if our home court advantage is worth the massive home/road splits. Our teams consistently struggle to adjust to road officiating.

Yep, you are right. But why are we hell bent on staying in it??
Pro: West Virginia offensively isn't good enough to shoot you out of it.
Con: We are poor rebounding with man to man....We are even more poor when we don't have a man.

Quit ******* about the refs. Did you really think we were going to get a fair shake there? This team needs to man up and stop allowing themselves to get pushed around.

Doesn't matter, you'll never convince some people that the refs aren't calling it even. They play completely different styles, and we have more fouls. Something doesn't add up.
