Monte seems to have a great head on his shoulders. He's not going to make a stupid decision. I watched the game like it was his last at Hilton and I'll be pleasantly surprised if it wasn't

He really needs to come back, I think he would make a roster either way based on some of the names on that mock draft that makes me shake my head but monte would be a great backup PG in the NBA.

There it is...boy media couldn't wait to jump on Monte as the nba stuff. Can we let the season end first? Morris has not exactly lit it up last few games...I'm sure he does want to get drafted in Rd 1...but if it's in his head with how he performs determines right now whether he jumps then expect MM to struggle down stretch. You can't say "well if I score 30 next game I'm gone, if not I'm back"..cause what will happen is you will score 4pts and play terribly. Hope not..hope I'm wrong.

Wts..I hope he makes right decision for Monte. I'd be very very surprised if he's a RD 1 pick.

If he can get drafted in the 1st round, I hope he goes. Otherwise, he's smart to stay. Will be the front runner/figure head of the team next year. Can work on his shot this summer too.

Absolutely...btw..Ernst is one big dude. Looks like all he's been doing is lifting. Kid is going to be a monster inside in few years if he gets his knee healthy.

I would love monte to come back, I think next year it will give him a chance to call it his team and when ESPN talks about Iowa State it will be about how it is Monte leading them now. If he leaves for the pros I completely understand and hope he shreds it out there. I think if he comes back though he has a higher chance at being in the first round.

He has been struggling the last 4 games and he has been turning it over way more than he ever has
Hopefully he can get back on track because the rest of the guys seem to be peaking.

Not a good sign for Morris when his name doesn't even make this list.

My opinion he needs to add some more weight and work on his 3 point shot before he is getting a 1st round slot.

Do like his comment about having a helluva team next year.
That's not a good site to look at. Draft express does the best job. They have Monte around the 40th pick.
I don't think he will be a first rounder this year even with a strong finish.

But #5 and #7 making a big jump by playing a senior NCAA year should give him some room for optimism.

It doesn't always happen but those guys, especially Buddy, technically made a lot of $ by coming back for one more year.

Ya I found a few things concerning from the article about his staying, I think he's heavily leaning on wanting to go (saying he will based on future results, played last night like it's his last game).

But what you are saying is a little concerning as well. Playing well down the stretch will raise his stock only if he plays extremely well, not necessarily the team. Although what's good for one may be good for all, but like you said he hasn't looked great the last few games. Last night was an odd odd game for him.

For better or worse for Monte, I don't think what happens the rest of the season will have that much effect on his draft status.

His positives are well known. Things he could improve to up his stock are more long term (improve defense, strength, and improve his shot).

Monte raising his game during the post season the last two years has been very good for the team the past two years.

he didn't score last night but he didn't take many shots. If anything, I want him shooting more. If he wanted to feature himself, he would have shot more. His turnovers have been a bit high, but nothing crazy...we are just used to him with 0. And he had 6 assists and 6 rebounds last night. I think all of this stuff about him playing poorly lately is silly. I suppose it's possible he is nursing that injury a bit again.

Don't know about this site they have Diallo as a first round pick and he barely averages 5 mins a game but I get the point

Local media will probably write or talk about this constantly until he makes a decision. Then after he makes it, they will say it was the wrong one.

Agreed to a certain extent.

It is a turnover slump for Monte', but even a slump for Monte' is still pretty good play. Here are the stats for Monte's recent slump compared to the career numbers for a couple of the Big 12's most highly touted PGs.

Monte' Morris 43 a 20 to ratio: 2.15 (last 6 games)
Frank Mason 3.5 a 1.7 to ratio: 2.05
Lester Medford 4.9 a 1.9 to ratio: 2.58

So during his slump he is right in line with the career numbers of other elite Big 12 PGs. Let's also keep in mind that in the 3 games prior to this slump Monte' had 27 assists with only 1 turnover. That 27:1 ratio is pretty good.
