Short bench + elevation = worries?

To me its can we play with their 7 footers? We seem to struggle with length.

Well you know, Iowa State has Georges Niang who played with *NERLENS NOEL* at the Tilton School in New Hampshire where he learned to shoot the ball over a taller, great shot blocker.

Not a dumb question. Especially since ISU rarely played well in Boulder.

Well obviously this is an important tidbit since ISU hasn't played in Colorado since 2012 when none of the current players were even on the team.

Monte's shoulder is more worrisome than the altitude.

I think last year one of the major things was fatigue at the end of the year, and playing the games wore an already worn down team. This year the team is more up and down of course, Of course, losing to OU wasn't good, but it also gives our guys more time to rest. Hopefully MM will be better for the Iona game.

Dehydration is a bigger issue at altitude than the oxygen. If they get here a day or two early and stay hydrated they won't have an issue.

Monte's shoulder is a much bigger concern.

The altitude is an issue, but it is an issue for Iona and Purdue as well. It would be different if we were playing a team acclimated to 6000'. Monte's shoulder is the bigger issue.

He played with Nerlens? When did that news break? Huge, if true.

Is the elevation really as much of a factor as it is made out to be?

I think it will be less a factor than if we were playing a team who plays at home in elevation. Both teams in both rounds are not from elevation.

These are the correct answers. And those extra days we got off from losing to OU early will help out.
Monte's shoulder is the issue we should be worried about, not altitude.

Is the elevation really as much of a factor as it is made out to be?

No. Altitude sickness for most people occurs at elevations above 8,000 ft. The air pressure at 8,000 ft is about the same as the air pressure maintained inside of commercial aircraft. The Pepsi Center in Denver is only at 5,193 ft. Ames is at 900 ft. and Iona is at 89 ft., so if anything it would bother Iona worse. However, neither team should feel any effects from playing at 5,193 ft.

I'm more concerned with Monte talking about how much pain he has. Hopefully he gets some relief by game time. Wish they played Fri
