Re: Iowa/Villanova

Niang won as many tournament games in 48 hours as Iowa's senior class did their entire career. Iowa is just an irrelevant program really.

I agree talentwise, I'm just comparing how Nova is hounding Iowa defensively.... WV would get after them even more.

The difference is Nova actually plays solidly so I'm assuming that the refs in their conference didn't let them get away with misdemeanor assaults all year like @Big12refs let WVU get away with in conference.

I've said before but Huggins builds that team/gameplan to push the limits of fouling and challenge officials. The Big 12 officials bow down to it because they know they will have to see Huggins again. NCAA tourney refs don't have that concern.

I know it's human nature to look forward when you're losing like Iowa has, but losing four seniors that have that much experience is never a positive. Iowa is going to be bad next year.

Bad is right. We'll win a bit, but im just hoping we can be close to .500 to end the year.
For us to have any chance at a decent year, Uhl and Wagner are going to have to have incredible off seasons. And then we'll need Jok to be able to handle the ball...and have Cook and Bohannon be ready to play...
And....hopefully Dale Jones will be healthy.
Baer is about the only one im not worried about...and thats because he is scrappy and plays harder than anyone else on our team

I've made a lotta dumb picks in the tournament so far, but among my smartest was not advancing Iowa past second round. (Although, admittedly, I was wrong to pick Temple over Iowa. Alas.)

This is where I think Iowa fans are completely off base. Baer has his moments, but he's not a Big Ten player. Accepting him as a main cog for the next three years is foolish. Guys like that have to be recruited over. It's McDermott-esque. The fact that Iowa fans are OK with him getting a scholarship baffles me.
