I had the Bulls game on just now and they just showed a picture of the guys watching the game. The ESPN guys went on about how Fred was a great college coach, who gave his guys a lot of rope--the kind of guy NBA players want to play for. They said that this particular veteran Bulls team hadn't responded well, including Butler's comments about wishing Fred coached them harder.

Fred and Prohm inherited similar situations. Both got veteran teams, both had expectations to meet. I guess I'm taking the long way to get around to saying that it looks like the leadership on ISU's team this year has contributed a lot to Prohm's success this year, and it is something Fred's team is missing.

So,let me ask this....Does anyone think the team meeting with Fred and going to Bulls game is some big distraction? Idk it seems that when the team went to NYC they did all these things and players later said maybe it was too much..I just don't see how 2 days before the game going to an NBA game in same Arena u will play in is a distraction? If anything I'd think that it would allow them to get a little perspective on the Arena if anything.

You give Fred credit but dismiss CSP's efforts it sounds like?

A nice enough interview but mostly just fluff and coach speak, to me. Nice to see Fred can still hit home runs with John Walters' softballs.

Not at all. I think Prohm handled this years team in pitch perfect manner.

It was more a comment that both guys had to earn their stripes with their team, and the Bulls didn't buy in nearly as well as the Cyclones did--and the leaders on the team can go a long way in determining how that transition goes. In my view that doesn't reflect poorly on Fred, but on the make up of that team. Lots of work for the GM to do there.

As the announcers just said, the Bulls sure aren't playing like a playoff spot is on the line. And I hope we play better defense Friday than Fred's team is playing...

I'd rather focus on the guy who has gone out of his way to praise hoiberg anytime anything good has happened this year. And who actually wants to coach here. That's the real story.

the difference is Fred's team is playing the equivalent of Minnesota at home tonight.

What I really wanna know is if Monte was smart enough to pull Fred aside and get his honest opinion on if he has worthwhile draft aspirations. #stayinschoolMonte

So that's a no....

not a no. A "I hate the Bulls, so I don't especially like their coach."

but I find it funny that we are all fawning over what he said.

Fred's aged about 5 years in the last year. He looks beat down. He should've taken my advice.
