Because of the low depths he took this normally historic football program at Iowa State University. It's embarrassing what a joke he made out of this normally proud, incredibly successful program.
I mean 8 wins in 3 years....

As he built the program, yes. But after it was built he didn't let it tank into oblivion like Rhoads.

I don't know if I'd personally consider going from 6 wins to 2-3 wins would consider it going to oblivion.

I hate this discussion because it makes me sound like a Rhoads apologist, which I'm not. It was definitely time for him to go, even a season later than it should have been done. I fully supported the decision. I was a Fleck guy before Campbell was hired, but still like the Campbell hire and so far it's looking like an amazing hire. I just don't get the massive disdain for Rhoads. He essentially did what pretty much every coach in the history of the program did. Sadly for our program, he was statistically better than most still. But it's not like he took a championship caliber program and ran it into the ground. He took a program that went to two bowl games in the prior 6 years and took them to 3 bowl games in 7 years.

If its not funny because its a dead horse, is it still a joke? Kinda like Calvin peeing on things...

See now you're changing the argument. My response was questioning its hostility, now you compare apples to oranges and change it to whether it's funny or not. Last I checked the definitions of hostile and funny are significantly different.

This kid is a high priority for this staff...big, strong, fast corner that will play right away..Paul was always good at building relationships and now he just has one focus..he was always a good secondary coach..it's his roots. Will be intersting to see how this plays out that's for sure.

Isn't/wasn't CMC recruiting Toledo's targets?
Though CPR was/being fired when we found him, nice guy not sure why you'd want to play for him if you have options....

Keep an eye on Arkansas. The last two ISU football coaches got fired and then won nathional championships at their next school - Chizik at Auburn and McCarney was the D Line coach at Florida when they won in 2008.

I think if they are okay with playing for Bielema, they wouldn't have a problem with Rhoads.

chiz didn't get fired, he ditched us for auburn. Actually a lot of fans were upset that he up and left. He probably would have gotten another 2-3 years to coach here.
