Yeah clearly he has no desire for power or armies or titles or high born marriages or huge castles.

yeah, he definitely hasn't been consistently acquiring these things over the entire series, or anything...

I didn't say he hasn't been acquiring power and titles, etc. I know he has. But I think he's smart enough to know that the last few kings haven't lived their lives peacefully and some have died in terrible ways. It's nice to be the puppetmaster sometimes. But that's just my opinion. We'll see what happens.

Tommen IS going to die. Maybe not this episode, but soon. And Cersei can't die until he does so lets get these dominoes falling. Please. As for the inheritance:

1) Gendry/ Edric Storm inherits with the backing of the Storm Lands. We don't really have a named character championing the Baratheon line since Davos is clearly under the Stark banner for now. Although maybe Jon refuses his call for justice in regards to Melisandre and he heads south to Storm's End. Low Probability.

2) The Lannisters argue that Tommen's nearest male relative should inherit and Kevan becomes King. This would be relatively easy to do as he is the overall Lannister commander and Hand of the King. The #2 guy has a good shot. If the High Sparrow endorses him (Assuming he is alive) it would be a shoe in. Moderate odds.

3) The Tyrells argue that Margery is Queen and should continue to rule. I don't think this is standard practice in Westeros. I can't think of another time this happened in the past but with the situation as it is, and if the Lannisters are dead (Cersei -clearly Margery's plan- Tommen, maybe Kevan?) or returned to Casterly Rock, continuity is better than all out civil war.

4) Tommen and Cersei die and Dany lands in Dorne, proclaiming herself Queen. The Tyrells do what they normally do and try to marry Margary to Dany but then realize that won't work and just support Dany in order to avoid war with Dorne.

5) Littelfinger marries Sansa, becomes Warden of the North and names himself King.

I'm not going to lie here; this scenario puts some pretty dirty thoughts in my head.

I also do not think that Little Finger will try to take the Iron Throne. He wants power, but he wants to be the one pulling the strings.

I think someone offs him before he gets to that point, or that point is never reached in the show/books.

I think the throne will be a lesser concern once the long night comes.

Do you folks have a youtube channel you like the best for GoT episode reviews? I just found New Rockstars and I'm really impressed with them. They point out camera angles, symbolism, framing shots, book insight and other minutia that I missed. It helps me appreciate how deep the story is.

I like Elio Garcia and GoT Academy. Preston Jacobs I ok.

Itamal from GoT Academy gives a lot of historical insight into the story.

I usually go with Alt Shift X, he does a pretty good job but can be slow in getting them out after the episode.

Alt Shift X is easily the best.

Yep. He does take a while to get the video out though because his videos are super detailed with photos, family trees, previous quotes (book and tv), etc.

I watched the review videos for S6E8 from New Rockstars, GoT Academy, and Alt Shift X. Here are my thoughts:

Alt Shift X - best at reviewing the story, really nice job of consolidating clips

New Rockstars - present the review from a film student perspective which I find fascinating, I also really like how they go in-depth on their theories

GoT Academy - the interest here is more in the presenters themselves.

I think Sansa beats him at his own game and orchestrates his downfall. But that's a long ways off.

Do the presenters have certain, attributes, which increase the appeal of the review? I must admit, my interest is piqued.

I thought I read or watched a video that said if Tommen dies it's Jaime that is next heir since he is no longer in the Kingsguard.

he can try, but the Lannisters don't have the throne (technically they do, but the public doesn't know that) the baratheons do. So he couldn't inherit the throne, but he could certainly use his army to take it.

Preview for this week shows them meeting up by a tree. Maybe Brienne shows up and Sansa orders her to kill LF for setting her up with Ramsay.

I actually hope Tommen doesn't die because I want to see Dany's army take on the combined forces of the Lannisters and Tyrells, not just pick off the remains of a civil war.

he can try, but the Lannisters don't have the thrown (technically they do, but the public doesn't know that) the baratheons do. So he couldn't inherit the thrown, but he could certainly use his army to take it.

Throne

Game of THRONES!

Game of Throwns sounds like an elite NFL offense. I nominate my Pittsburgh Steelers for that nickname.

Way up there

Why would the Lannisters have anything to do with who succeeds Tommen? As far as the throne is concerned he's a Baratheon, wouldn't someone from that line be the king? Obviously the Lannisters will try to keep the throne but they have no claim, unless their are no Baratheon's left right?

Ok I looked it up. No boobs. Except maybe Itamar's man boobs.

Gil looks like Mat Stone with more facial hair.
