I'm SUCH a big movie fan that narrowing it down is virtually impossible...so I set some parameters. I decided that it had to be characters in movies that I have watched multiple times...so many, in fact, that I can recite their lines if I wanted to. STILL had to narrow it down quite a bit...

In no particular order:
Han Solo - Harrison Ford
Captain Virgil Hilts "Cooler King" - Steve McQueen
Andrew Shepherd - Michael Douglas
Captain Marko Ramius - Sean Connery
Ellen Ripley - Sigourney Weaver

That's another movie where I loved so many characters, I would need a Great Escape top 5. I guess the Scrounger and the Cooler King stand out the most, but just so many epic characters and actors in one movie.

I had no idea Ripley's first name was Ellen.....

So...my top five from Great Escape would be:

Hilts, Cooler King
Hendley, Scrounger
Bartlett, Big X
Sedgwick, Manufacturer
Blythe, Forger
Von Luger, Kommandant

Yes...that's six. Too bad!

Ditto. Also have a soft spot for the Tunnel Kings and they even survived.

Also a candidate for best first lines in a movie.

Plus Ashley-Pitt (dispersal)...mostly because I was crazy about Ilya Kuryakin as a tween. And now he's Ducky on one of my favorite shows. :)

Yep. Quite a hottie but when you are in a movie with Steve McQueen, it sometimes goes overlooked.

Oddly enough, as much as I love Mal, Jayne & Wash were amazing scene stealers.

But I do still use the line "go play with your rainstick" on my boys (my 37 & 38 year old "boys")...

I have a soft (or not soft) spot for Kaylee as well. Great cast overall.
