Maybe I'm wrong but it sure seems like it would make a lot of sense for Philadelphia to release either Chase Daniels or Sam Bradford. I'm not a capologist so the cap hit for Bradford may not be worth it.

Shaun Hill will allow them to do what they need to. Run clock with a dominant ground game and solid defense. Im not a Vikings fan but I still see that at 9-7

Nobody. Hill can do what Teddy did. Check down and not make mistakes. Let the running game and defense do what they do.
Teddy at least was potentially showing this year that he had some threat of throwing the ball past the sticks. With Hill in there, that's definitely not going to happen. Good luck to our running game, shoving AP into the box against 8-9 defenders every down.

I'd take McCarron.

The Bengals are not parting with AJ. He played well when Andy went down last year so that is an absolute pipe dream.

AJ McCarron is the correct answer but this is absolutely right. No way the Bengals part with him unless a first and more is offered. Which is too risky to give up for another team. He's just worth too much to the Bengals for it to make sense trade-wise.

Been there, done that. His entire career.

Most teams have been stacking the box against the Vikings for years now. That won't be anything new.

I agree that with Teddy you had potential for what could be and the future of the position. In that sense, it sucks big time.

No ******* way. Even if he did that, you still need a third QB. I agree that they don't need to swing for the fences but there ar eguys out there who could help them. Glennon would probably be first on the list followed by Sanchez and McCarron. They need something especially when there's no gaurentee he's fully back next year.

Well we are talking two different things there. I agree the Vikings need to take another look at their future as Teddy might not be back right away next year and may never be the same. My point is not to overreact and go crazy looking to bring a guy in to be the starter weeks before the season starts. Go get a backup you can trust and let Hill do what Teddy did. He's capable.

It may be true that the asking price for AJ is too high, but there is no way that the asking price is anywhere near a first round pick or even a second. If he's a guy that anyone considers starter quality, then he's gone from the Bengals in two years anyway, and the Bengals would be wise to take much less than a high draft pick for him.

They aren't bringing in a guy to sit behind Shaun Hill, especially any of the ones mentioned. If they went and grabbed Mike Vick, maybe that would be the case, but any of the rumored possibilities would be brought in to start.

Nobody is replacing Hill right away. To bring someone in a week before the season opener and ask them to start is setting them up to fail. But yeah, if they do trade for someone then Hill will be on a very short leash.

Hill might be serviceable for a few games (although his throws float more than I would like) but he's 36 and has a history of getting injured...ain't no way he's making it through the season.

They need to find someone who can come in if (and when) Hill gets hurt because Stave is in no way ready to start.

I agree there. They do need a quality backup to Hill. I just don't think there is anyone available right now that is a clear upgrade heading into the season.

Unless Favre wants to come back that is. But he's a clear upgrade over every QB in the league!

This is comical.

You trust Shaun Hill to lead game winning drives? To get out of trouble with his feet?

Hill is touted as a game manager, but I see a big difference in his ability to read a defense and Bridgewater's. The way Teddy was throwing guys open and hitting deep balls this preseason showed a major source of improvement in his game.
