Okay I am going to summarize my understanding of random Gopher fan with an OU Contact twitter account, let me know what I am missing.

Not sure if in 24 months or over the next 24 months negotiations will begin between, schools not named KU, OU, and UT to get a new GOR, P5 status and small bump in TV contracts through 2035, congruent to that, those school will then vote to dissolve the current GOR so that KU, OU, and UT can begin talks with other conferences.

I also infer that more than just those three will attempt to get into the other P5 conferences. These schools that remain which will be less than 7 of the current B12 will then add teams to round out the new B12 and will keep P5 status through 2035.

Couple of things come to mind. This isn't a bad solution for ISU. On the flip side why in the hell is/are a network(s) going to pay for the remaining schools plus whatever is added, the same as the conference with OU and UT? In my mind if this is what they are thinking there is a plan for sometime around 2035 to further dissolve conferences, and only the big boys will play big boy football. Otherwise, why wouldn't OU and UT just stay in the B12. If the "new B12" is worth a little more without them, then you would think it would be worth a hell of a lot more with them.

Once again please be reminded that this is a random Gopher fan with a OU contact twitter account.

Looking through this Flug guy's tweets, I'm thinking he belongs in the same category as MHVer, DudeofWV, & Tuxedo Yoda. They throw out expansion stuff every other week and hope something sticks.

Beginning of the end. New Big XII will not be P5 for long.

My understanding is Big 12 teams will be making 43m each in the last year of GOR. Maybe more depending on what happens now. How much will Big 10 make per team?

I'm still not convinced Big 12 is in trouble. I get a little tired of espn and their back and forth ripping of Big 12. But they aren't the only channel. Same song and even the same verse. ESPN isn't a partner to the Big 12, they are just an obligated party to a contract. The have other loves right now (and have for quite some time), and they have no desire to promote the Big 12. The same is pretty much true for FOX.

It's been mentioned before here, but it would really benefit the Big 12 to get some "new" money into this football TV rights game. Maybe Comcast/NBC, TBS/TNT...given their other sports ventures, they may not have the money or be interested. Can always hope I guess...

I thought FOX would be a player for the Big 12, seeing as how without that conference they would only have PAC12 regular season football.

And that's how this rumor news works. Just like throwing wet napkins at the bar ceiling. It's just random. Nothing factual to it.

That's crazy talk for a number of reasons.

And there isn't a chance in hell that the remaining 7 or whoever is left would simply add teams and be considered a P5 school. If Texas, OU and KU what's left of the Big 12 becomes the American Athletic Conference 2.0.

They are part owner of BTN, but the only regular season games that air on FS1, FS2, and Fox regional are Big 12 and Pac12. The only Big 10 game that airs on a Fox network outside of BTN is the Big 10 Championship which is on FOX.

Currently that is correct but will be changing soon (next year???) when the new deal stars. Both Fox and ESPN are splitting the rights if I remember correctly.

If the Big 12 dies in p5 essence ISUs only chance to stay p5 might be by not expanding.
