On Weiler-Babb not putting up "gaudy" statistics, his steal number (12 in 125 minutes) is damn near gaudy. Also he's averaging 6.5pts, 4.5 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and 0.5 turnovers in 20 minutes a game. Those are amazing numbers. If he can do that in his RS Soph year, he's lining up as a star-in-the-making that I did not expect from him.

The crowd sounded great on TV and **** Vitale mentioned it. Yet, only the lower level of the side shown on TV seemed full. What was it like in person?

Weiler-Babb also impressed me on the little things. Hate to try and pinpoint him as the defense guy like his brother, but fought his way over screens and rotated well on defense.

Was impressed that Burton came out firing on all cylinders after that mess against Indiana State. Apparently confident in his shot

Felt like Naz finally got going a bit in the first half of the Gonzaga game.

I think the end of game strategy has to be Monte, with the ball in his hands, trying to get into the paint with the option to finish or kick back out. 2nd option, Burton out top if a big is on him.
I agree that it needs to be Monte. I think the obvious choice is a Monte and Burton pick and roll with shooters outside the arc.

It was fantastic.

Richie Vitale was very complimentary of the crowd and even mentioned the Michigan game in Hilton with Johnny Orr present.

The crowd sounded great on TV. And it looked like Cyclone fans dominated both ends of the TV side.

I agree with this as well. It was what I was hoping for yesterday. I understand that the end-of-game situation yesterday had some oddities though...which may have prevented a Monte iso or high ball screen from happening. Basically like the final play from the Iowa game last year where Monte hit that floater is what I think we'll see more of going forward.

Also, great job Brett and Chris on the radio call. I was in the car for the final yesterday and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to you two.

This will probably seem stupid, but I didn't think the defense was that bad in the first half. I think that the plan was to double on the post and give up some 3's. That plan obviously backfired in a big way. But I don't think it was lack of effort or just giving up wide open shots.

It's absurd that Gonzaga had multiple fouls to give at the end of the game with all the bumping that they did, compared to what was called on us.

What I loved about this weekend was that the team went toe-to-toe with a great team that had a huge size advantage. Wasn't sure they could do that before yesterday. This is going to be a damn good team come March, IMO.

And a team with a huge height advantage that was hitting shots.

This team has unlimited potential when they all gel and it all comes together. Really excited for the rest of this season

I'm looking forward to Young being out there again, you could definitely tell our posts were getting gassed time to time (specifically thinking of a non box out by Burton at the three point line at one point). This is going to be a fun team to watch, we havent had a super athletic/deep group like this in a long time.
