Couldn't watch, but saw the final play in highlights.

It wasn't great, but wasn't that bad either. Looked like Monte's shot was very close to falling.

I remember the the '13-14 team having some very close games where things happened like that, except with that type of shot falling.

Thought it was kind of a perfect tournament for ISU.

Going to be a tough stretch as Cinci and Iowa are two games they could drop if shots don't fall.

Miami and the second half of Gonzaga are awesome examples of what this team can do if we defend with our hair on fire.

Also, great job Brett and Chris on the radio call. I was in the car for the final yesterday and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to you two.

I thought the same thing. Brett and Chris had some pretty big shoes to fill, and I thought that they did a great job. I don't think that the "Voice of the Cyclones" job will be open for a while, but I bet John and Eric are proud of the job you both did. That hectic first half of the first half of the championship game really seemed to test your abilities. Well done.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't have mattered if the shot fell or not. He didn't get it off in time to count. The officials were already waving it off and the replay showed 0 before it left his hands.

Wouldn't have mattered. He didn't get it off before the clock hit 0.0.

The final play, looked like Naz should have passed to Burton, who at a minimum had an open 2 in the lane, but guessing they were told to get the ball to Monte and he did. The usual suspects would be ripping Prohm if Monte doesn't get the ball, well probably ripping Prohm no matter what if we lose. Except everyone knows the ball has to go to Monte and Burton was left open.

For the final play, I was hoping they would put Monte in an iso situation, clear out the lane and park Matt, Deonte, Naz and Bowie/Holden outside the arc. When Monte gets past the free throw line, have Holden or Bowie come crashing in to rebound.

I think our best option is to have Monte drive and try to get a shot or a foul. If someone collapses to help out, he dishes to one of our three shooters. I trust any one of them to take that last second shot. Thomas and Naz have proven time and again that it doesn't matter how they've shot leading up to that point. They can both hit the dagger when it matters.

Could have been interesting to see what the refs may have called if we had tossed one at the basket when the Zags intentionally fouled us.

Richie Vitale on TV. Blum and Williams on radio. Nice combo.

You must have forgotten that Fred Hoiberg never had any losses in pre-conference or any tournaments.

Great defensive effort over the weekend, but it seems the focus on defense is limiting our work to space the floor and have fluid passing to aid in the assist numbers. There were a lot of 4' passes that were sloppy, contested or turned over. Super happy with the overall results though.

Be fun to go into Waco Jan. 4 with a 12 -1 record. Their toughest game before then is @ OU.

Orlando tournament showed me we have one of the best teams we have had in years in the month of November. This will be a very fun team if we keep moving toward our ceiling as the year goes on. I was also very concerned about Naz post hip surgery and now I'm much less concerned. Also, Burton is a big key for our success and he appears like he's much improved. Obviously he's going to have off nights, but he appears he is going to be more consistent. Also, our bench is miles ahead of last year.
