I see it being a close game until we break away at the end. No way Naz and Thomas will be cold much longer. You know Monte is going to show up. I'll take the Clones by 12 but we didn't get to rest until the last 3 minutes.

Naz was 4/9 from 3 pt. range, hardly what I'd call "cold." Matt was 2/3 in the Miami game from the 3, and shot lights out the last home game, but he did struggle in the last game. Have to throw the Indiana State game out of the window as no one shot well. I think Naz and Matt are coming along just fine as far as their shooting goes.

I take offense to that as I grew up on Skyline chili. Their is no correlation between Skyline and there poor grammar. So they're!
hahaha, all in good fun. I have relatives that are from Cincy and they swear by the stuff, but it's never been for me. It is always a good debate whether Skyline is good or not with Cincy people haha. I will admit, I make a chili/chip dip that the skyline make really flavorful when heated with the other ingredients so I will give it it's props there.

They seem to really lack depth, which is nice. Merrill is going to have a tough task, but that's what he signed up for when he joined the team.

I was at the game last year that most UC fans consider the one game last year that got away. Up 4 with under 2 minutes to go and ISU forced some turnovers and then Nader (I think?) hit a game winning three. Hopefully the result is different this year.

As far as UC this year, the team is in a bit of a transition period as the two main offensive forces last year (Caupain and Clark) are now 3 and 4 in the pecking order behind Evans and Washington.

Caupain is the preseason player of the year in the AAC but he is the 3rd best player on this team, which speaks to how talented Evans and Washington are.

Evans had a pretty solid game against ISU last year hitting some threes and taking Nader off the dribble. He'll be the best NBA prospect on the floor this Thursday. He's big (6'6 215), can really shoot it (46% from 3 on 4.7 attempts per game) and is our best perimeter defender. He's the most talented all around player UC has had in a long time. He does need to be more assertive though as a scorer. He averages 17.8 on only 10 shots a game from the field. I'm really curious to see who ISU puts on Evans.

Washington has also been great. He's a very solid scorer in the post but he scores exclusively with his left hand. He can also face up and shoot, although he is more productive with his back to the basket. Solid rebounder but definitely prone to foul trouble. He is a work in progress on the defensive end.

The big news is with regard to Gary Clark's healthy. He hurt his ankle on Saturday so his status appears to be up in the air. He has been trying to figure out his role on offense with Washington being the primary post scorer after Clark was that guy last year. If Clark doesn't play Thursday he would be a huge loss. Not sure else who UC has that can slow down Burton.

The other guys are all role players (Johnson, Jenifer, Scott, Cumberland, Brooks), who contribute in their own ways, but I wouldn't say UC is incredibly deep or talented on the bench. The top 4 (Evans, Washington, Caupain and Clark) carry the load.

UC will be stout defensively on the interior (although less so if Clark doesn't play) but they continue to get killed on corner threes out of the matchup zone. Rhode Island won the game hitting those shots and I remember ISU having success there with Thomas last year.

Hopefully it'll be a great game. UC really needs this one as the AAC looks terrible this year. Not many more opportunities for big wins... Good luck.

I appreciate the info, and detailed info at that. Always nice to have a educated fan of another fanbase come in and talk some hoops. I will object to one thing, though, and that is the line where you said Evans will be the best NBA prospect on the floor this Thursday. Now, he very well could be a great player at this level and the next, but Monte Morris is the real deal. Don't sleep on a few of the guys on this ISU squad. There may not be too many national names on this team, but Monte Morris is as good as advertised if not better, Deonte Burton is playing freakish basketball right now and is a matchup nightmare for anyone due to his size/strength and we have a lot of shooters. Our big men our a bit raw, but they are mostly role players where defensive production is key for us.

Oh definitely, I have a ton of respect for Morris as a player. He was tremendous to watch against UC last year. I was particularly impressed with his ability to finish at the basket. He's a great player no doubt and probably a 1st or 2nd team all american.

Burton was also great against UC and I caught him against Indiana State as well over the weekend. He's really come on this year after showing flashes of his explosive talent last year.

But you look at Evans and see a 6'6 wing that is very athletic, can shoot out to 25 and handle the ball. He's a prototype wing at the next level. Both Morris (he will be the best player on the floor) and Burton are great, but undersized for the next level. That's all I meant by that comment.

Fair. But Burton is a 6'5 Wing, that is also very athletic, has the ability to shoot the three, and take most anyone off the dribble, but on top of that is 250 and can't be moved when driving to the rim. I'll give 1 inch and take the 35 pounds. Now, I am not saying Deonte Burton is going to be a lotto pick or anything, just saying he may be the most underrated player in the Big 12 that deserves the praise, his problem in the past has been he occasionally will disappear for stretches in games, and he needs to take a next step to be more consistent. Morris is "undersized" weight wise, but his 6'2 size is not outrageously small for the NBA, especially when you take into account he will be more of a pass-first pg in the NBA at first, so he isn't the flashy option but he will get picked up by a Spurs or a LAC team and progress into a formidable NBA PG, IMO. Can't wait to watch Evans play again, though, he is a heck of a talent.

I'm guessing that Matt Thomas and Nick Babb will alternate on Evans, as they both have the size and defensive ability, but we will probably help off other players at times as he sounds like a load. Not really sure on Washington as he presents either a skill mismatch or a size mismatch depending on who we guard him with.

Doc also hates sex, winning the lottery, beating cancer, etc.

I've known two people in my life who disliked The Simpsons, Seinfeld, and Will Farrell. 1/3 of I could accept, but a trifecta was hard to stomach.

Probably also not a fan of assists.
