Meeks draws #16 ranked Everett from Army. Given how the rest of that quarter looks that about as good a spot as he could have hoped for. If he's going to make anything of his senior season this bracket gives him the chance.

Pestano starts off against the guy ranked #20. So also a good spot for him to prove he belongs to be ranked. And 165 is a smaller bracket so he'll get some extra recovery time after making weight.

Who knows what upsets will do to later rounds, but can't really complain about any of our draws. The opportunity to do well is there.

Trey Meyer is wrestling at 165. Iowa State commit that went Juco and hopefully be back in a couple years.

Not a great start for Pestano. I'm worried he's not going to be effective at 165. We'll also have to see how Meeks bounces back in the consos. Good round other than that.

#3, #5,and #6 have already fallen in the 125 bracket. I'm not sure what quarter Simmons will fall in to assuming he doesn't upset Dance but it might be a tough one.

Meeks loses by fall on backside.. I was still hoping he would find a way to turn it around. Earl beat 4-3 by Keener of Central Michigan in the 2nd round, our best shot at having a finalist as 174 is loaded.

Fitzgerald (who Meeks just lost to) pinned Keener and Micic with that same exact move a few weeks ago. If you've never wrestled him or prepped for him that will happen so I guess take that match for what you will

Quean in the quarterfinals is a nice surprise.

As a whole not going great for us thus far as 141(Meeks), 165(Pestano), and Powell(184) go 0-2. 125(Simmons), 174(Weatherspoon) and 285(Smith) are in the quarterfinals. A couple of big matches there, Simmons has a Dance from Virginia Tech and Weatherspoon has Wanzek from Mn then Valencia from Arizona State. 133(Hall), 149(Straw), 157(Diblasi), and 197(Harrington) are alive on the backside.
