Love the potential this guy brings. However i wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start just due to other guys on the team. He will play for sure but we do have some other solid guys there. We will have a redshirt that will be 6'5" 270 by next fall as well. It will be nice to have some size to be able to rotate in there. Those 3 will make it easier on waggoner as well since he can focus on downs that favor his size and ability. I now feel very solid about the 4 man rotation at DE

On a side not i wonder if he will play DT some since we are very thin at that position. His highlight has him playing some inside as well.

Any chance we get josh allen now?

I'm assuming we offered playing time to get him, but he still has a RS yr to adapt, if need be. He's going to be a project, but man does he have the frame.

I doubt we will use it.... Watch his defensive highlights on Hudl. the guy is more than a physical specimen, he has a nose for the game too, with out really that much experience.

looks like high potential, but is he really a good football player yet? Only 17 tackles at the JC level? That is not even two a game. Maybe he has a ways to go before he is an impact player at the D1 level?

Jhaustin Thomas only had 23 tackles for us this year, but I would say he was one of our best D lineman.

Tackles arent a good indicator for a DE. Playing contain, getting pressure, demanding 2 blockers in pass situations, etc are far more important than tackle numbers.

A DE with 100 tackles downfield after he gives up the edge is a horrible DE. Tackles don't tell the story of a DE.

Positive = very exciting recruit! Season altering potential.

Negative = going to be a late bloomer a la David Irving and Jhaustin Thomas (ie in 6 years he will be a borderline pro bowler for the Bengals and we will all be wondering why he did not dominate as much at ISU)

This guy is going to be a problem for a lot of teams. Also, I have heard that Eyioma Uwazurike is an absolute freaking stud in the making. Would have started over Bailey had he not gotten here late. So throw him in when thinking about next years D Line.

That seems wrong. Bailey and Uwazurike play different positions.

You need a minimum of 4 inside and 4 outside guys [maybe 10] to rotate in based on down, distance, and match ups. Who are our 8-10 guys for next year?

You can't be serious. This guy should start from day 1.
